What a fantastic tour! Kieran was a masterful storyteller, providing global context while weaving in the personal angle as well. Informative without being stuffy, well worth the time. Only caution is that the town is hilly so be prepared to climb some steps (but Kieran does a great job of pacing and providing places to rest).

Kieran was an incredible guide. We would highly recommend this tour for both history buffs and those with little to no knowledge of Irish history. He was so knowledgable about Irish history overall as well as the local history of Cobh. The tour was filled with stories about local rebels and ordinary Irish families. Kieran is a great storyteller and very engaging. As someone who loves history and has previously found tours to be surface level this was truly phenomenal and so immersive. Plus my partner who knew very little about Irish history was able to follow and enjoyed the tour just as much. Could not recommend more! It was also just the two of us which made it feel like a private tour and we could ask as many questions as we liked. Check this out if you want to get a deeper dive into the local history.

We had such a lovely afternoon with Kieran, exploring Cobh’s rich history, on a day with perfect weather, no less. We were very lucky to have been the only two on that particular tour, so it felt like a private one! Kieran came with so much knowledge and facts you might find hard to believe (especially if you’re visiting from another country). He never missed an opportunity to answer questions or tell us fun stories while we walked between sites. We really appreciated the entire experience and learned so much, we found ourselves chatting about all of our newfound knowledge on the way back to our hotel. It’s certainly a tour you’ll need to catch if you’re headed to Cobh. Thank you for making our afternoon so interesting, Kieran!

This walking tour gave us an incredible history of Cork, and particularly how Cobh has played such an enormous part in the Irish resistance over the years. Our guide was not only knowledgeable and entertaining, but he also engaged us throughout the tour in unexpected ways. We went into neighborhoods and learned about some of the historic residents of the areas. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and cannot recommend it enough. Thank you so much!

A fantastic experience with Kieran. The tour was exceptionally informative and engaging. I learned so much about the history of Cobh and the war of independence in the local area and around the world. A must do if in the town. Thank you Kieran!

Absolutely loved the Cobh Rebel Walking Tour! It was such an interesting and enjoyable way to see Cobh and really get a feel for its history. Kieran, our guide was fantastic — so knowledgeable, passionate, and full of great stories that brought the past to life. We learned so much and saw parts of Cobh we might have missed otherwise. A brilliant mix of history, local insight, and beautiful sights!

Very informative and engaging. Kieran artfully unfolded a very complex history as we walked through the town. His engaging stories - as colorful as the houses of Barrack street - brought history alive. Highly recommended tour!
