We got to the meeting spot on time nobody was there. Nobody responded to my refund request. This is a lot of money to be out of for a tour we didn’t take.

This is one of the most colorful tours you can do in Panama. It's about spending the day with one of the 6 indigenous groups we have. The Embera are native to Darien, but are dispersed in many areas of the Panama Canal basin, between National Parks and environmental impact zones. In the Alajuela Lake Area there are several Embera communities, including PURUBIAKIRU. To get there you have to drive approximately an hour and a half to reach Lake Alajuela, here you take a "canoe" and navigate upstream for approximately 40 minutes until you reach the community. The river journey is one of the most beautiful parts of the activity. Here they will be welcomed with dances and smiles, and they will be taken to the bohio where they will have a pleasant conversation with one of the members of the village. They will talk about history, religion, culture, etc. The visit is complemented with a traditional lunch and ancestral dances. There are complementary activities such as trails, waterfalls, explanation of plants, cane grinding, swimming in the river, buying handicrafts, etc. Additionally, this community offers the opportunity to spend the night.
