The walking tour was a big highlight of my solo trip to Antigua. My tour guide, Lloyd was excellent. He was my tour guide the day before to Shirley Heights. Along the tour we stopped at St. John’s Cathedral and the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda. Lloyd and the staff at both stops were so welcoming and knowledge about Antigua’s history. As a middle school social studies teacher, I was thoroughly engaged and grateful to learn about the island’s beautiful culture. We made our way to Cutie’s restaurant in Redcliffe Quay. The Antigua Sampler and wrap that I had were AMAZING. It allowed me to taste a small piece of Antigua. Next, I was able to purchase some souvenirs from both Redcliffe Quay and Hermitage Quay to take home with me. Lloyd made the tour extremely memorable. I was short on time but we were able to drive past an Antiguan cricket legend’s house and pass through a few neighborhoods on the way back to my hotel. Next time, I’ll definitely check out the vegetable market and other restaurants recommended by Lloyd. Antigua was a treat and this tour is a great place to start or end your vacation. I can’t wait to go back!
