The tour guide was very good; however, the itinerary was not. Unfortunately, this 3 hour tour is the beginning portion of an 8 hour all-day tour of Hong Kong. The tour spent 1 1/2 hours in the Courthouse and Prison so when you include the time walking in the city there were not many stops. I had to ask a lot of questions because the tour guide was going to explain it in the second portion of the tour. This tour company should have a separate city walking tour.

Winnie was pleasant and accommodating. However, she lacked good communication skills. She was difficult to understand and did not explain things. I expected to hear about neighborhoods, some history, description of architecture and/or something about the culture. We got none of that We were led to a large building where she explained how important it was and a lot of other details, but I had to ask her, “But what IS this place?” I had no idea if we were visiting a church, a mall, or an office building. She never answered my question, just said, let’s go inside. It turned out to be the Central Police Station. Somewhat interesting but it did not warrant the large amount of time we spent there. We then went to the Staunton Mall so we could shop. It was a total waste of time since very few stalls were open. Everyone was back at the meeting point many minutes early. We also went to a small temple with very little to see. In all, a disappointing experience.

Our walking tour with Monica was really great. She gave lots of historical information and was very knowledgable. We only did the half day but joined the group for an amazing dim sum lunch at Dim Sum Square Kitchen. This is a great way to start your visit to Hong Kong.
