Volcan de La Corona
Vimotions offers you the chance of enjoying a fantastic hiking tour in the northern part of Lanzarote, where you will walk through two nature protected areas: the natural monument Volcán de la Corona and the Famara Cliffs in the nature park Archipiélago Chinijo. A guide will remain alongside you at all times and will make sure you don’t miss anything. The route starts in the town of Ye. From there, you will ascend towards the crater of La Corona volcano. You will be amazed by the beautiful views of some vineyards and the spectacular lava flows (commonly known as “malpaís”) during your walk. You will not only see one volcano while doing this hike, but a total of four. La Corona is aligned with Volcán de la Cerca, Los Helechos and La Quemada. These volcanoes were likely to be contemporary to La Corona when they were all active. From the top of these peaks (over 500 metres high) you will enjoy amazing views of the east and west sides of Lanzarote’s north. Once you finish visiting the volcanoes, your guide will take you to the highest part of the Famara Cliffs. There Cliffs are a real wonder of nature because of its wall of rock, which is more than 500 metres high along over 22 kilometres. During the walk along the edge, you will enjoy the astonishing views of Archipiélago Chinijo. Due to elevation and influence of trade winds during the last part of the hike, you will discover one of the more diverse nature areas of flora with many volcanic species and also bird life that our nature guide will show you. • You will enjoy several beautiful spots in the island of Lanzarote during this hike. • Your guide will show you the best places within this route. • You will visit a total of four volcanoes. • The amazing views from the Famara Cliffs (over 500 metres high) will enchant you.

This was truly and incredible and challenging tour. We went a bit off the beaten path but this may change due to changing circumstances about what’s allowed as many of the islands preserved areas are expanding. Still the guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the island and the nature. The sights were absolutely breathtaking and challenging to access and leave so definitely wear good shoes and a hat and sometimes depending on the conditions it could be windy and chilly up above. Would absolutely do this again or one of their other tours. Guide could also speak numerous languages which made for a very diverse audience while still being a small and intimate group.

The magnificent landscape is worth all the effort. A big thank you to our French-speaking guide Nadine, who shared her passion for unusual and confidential hiking with us.

This hiking tour was amazing. Well worth the money. The views were stunning. Our guide was excellent and provided a lot of historical facts. I would recommend wearing hiking boots as the terrain is rocky and footing can get tricky. The volcanic rock is very sharp. The hiking boots provide better traction when hiking down the side of the volcano.

Fantastic tour just as described. Anna, our guide, very knowledgeable, well-organised, helpful and friendly. Five of us in our group speaking Spanish and French which worked out well. Fascinating terrain: vineyards, volcano and stunning views. Would highly recommend - gracias, merci, thank you!

Host of the hike very nice. You need a good level of walking and not be afraid of elevation changes both at the volcano and for the cliff. The views from both sites are beautiful

This was a great half day walk in the north of the island. Pick up was very close to my hotel and there were not too many people to pick up. Laurent was our guide, and he was good at explaining what we could see on the walk, and generally good company too. The Corona Volcano was shrouded in cloud when we visited but we were able to see enough to get the idea. We also sampled prickly pears, picked and peeled for us by Laurent, and then walked along the cliff-tops which was spectacular. (Don't go if afraid of heights. It was all perfectly safe, but extremely windy.) There was a second group with different language. I think this meant the guides were able to make sense of the pick ups and drop offs to prevent us having to endure too many. Great organisation.

Marcelo showed us possible places to look for birds and was really informative. He even rang a Birding friend to check if he could guide us.We learned lots about the island and its history. A great day's walking and we were informed of the pick up time on booking.
