It’s your tour - visit the rain forest at Kaitoke (known as Rivendell for LoRs fans) or visit the stunning Kapiti Coast beaches. Wellington City highlights can also be included.
Ideal if you have visited Wellington before or want to go further. We will get in touch after you book to create your bespoke itinerary.

What To Expect
Porirua Harbour
Your itinerary will reflect your interests, time available and the weather. If there is something particular you have in mind, please let us know. We will stop for lunch along the way, location based around when hunger strikes. Heading north, we drive around the visually beautiful & historically significant Porirua Harbour. For people interested in visual arts, we can stop at the Pātaka Art Museum to check out their current community & cultural exhibitions.
Queen Elizabeth Park
Driving the Centennial Highway to the delightful seaside village of Paekākāriki, we check out the village & the beach. We can also visit QEII Park museum dedicated to the 15,000 US troops stationed there in WWII.

5.00If you are visiting Wellington, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Suzee. This was truly one of the highlights of our entire New Zealand trip. Suzee curated the most beautiful, thoughtful day for us, starting with a charming blueberry farm and apple picking experience that felt so peaceful and authentic. From there, we explored lush rainforest landscapes that felt straight out of The Lord of the Rings — including the breathtaking Rivendell filming location, which was absolutely magical to see in person. What made the day so special, though, was Suzee herself. She is warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about New Zealand. She shared wonderful insights about the local culture, history, and hidden gems throughout the countryside, all while making the experience feel relaxed and unhurried. The scenery was stunning at every turn, but it was Suzee’s attention to detail and genuine care that elevated this from a great tour to an unforgettable one. Highly, highly recommend — we would book with her again in a heartbeat.

5.00I recently booked with UTours for a private, all-day tour for 13 guests. We came in on a cruise ship and wanted to see as much of Wellington and the surrounding area as possible and let me say right now, up front, that UTours was fantastic. From my initial email to them to see what sort of day they could put together for us, to several phone calls with Suzee to make sure we had our itinerary absolutely perfect, I could tell we were going to have a fantastic day before we even arrived. We had two vehicles given the size of our group and we spent a fantastic day exploring sites like the Wind Turbine Lookout, Red Rocks, Breaker Bay, Worser Bay, the famous Weta Workshop , the Parliament Buildings and Old St Paul's church. I'm sure I missed a few other places we saw but you get the point. We absolutely feel like we know Wellington and the surrounding areas. We even had a lunch stop for traditional meat pies at Puku and they were amazing! This was one of Suzee's suggestions and it was quick, cheap, and SUPERB! I can't say enough about our day - all 13 of us unanimously agreed that we loved our time in Wellington. Thank you Suzee!

Suzee and Jo offer exceptional service to the visitor and we were able to see so much more of the city and the surrounding area thanks to them. Professional, efficient and super friendly, they guaranteed that we got to see as much as possible of the city and the surrounding region in the time available. Your guide can make or break the day and I Highly recommend using this owners operated company very responsive, excellent communication. Made sure to craft itinerary based on interests and requests of our specific group. Beautiful scenic drive, local spots Very thoughtful. Emailed quickly after booking confirmed regarding options for itinerary. Texted us day before tour so we would have easy access contact if we experienced any issues with meetup. Provided an array of beverages and snacks onboard. Very clean and comfortable vehicle. Fabulous recommendation of non touristy local seafood shop with beach view for lunch that was perfect.

5.00Spending the day with Suzee from Utours was a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend using this owner/operator company. She created an itinerary based on what interested us rather than a cookie cutter one size fits all tour. She reached out once booking was placed to be available to craft our day as we wanted. Reached out again close to tour date to check in, make any adjustments. Emailed us day before with detailed information for cruise port pick up texted the day before so we would have her number in phone in case we needed to reach her morning of. Pick up very smooth. Took us to local places, gorgeous scenic drive with stops great fish and chips lunch with beach view. Very engaging personable entertaining guide. Very comfortable vehicle that was very clean. Would def spend another day with Suzee next time we find ourselves in New Zealand

5.00My wife and I had the most amazing tour of the area and got to see it from a local's perspective. Suzee was so accommodating and informative as we saw areas we wanted to know more about. She took the time to explain the areas to us. Suzee took time to understand us and what was important to us. I really appreciated that. Many tours are so repetitive and seem Step by Step. Suzee could see we wanted an off the script view of Wellington and the area, a feel for life there, and she delivered big time. I know Suzee already knew me enough to realize this review would be late as we built a friendship and understanding during the day. Yes, the reviews of tours typically fall to my wife. We have had amazing tours on this trip and on many of the trips we've taken before but I've never had a guide with Suzee's passion for the area. And I've never made a friend on a tour before. For a great tour where the guide wants to know what you want to see. This is the right choice. Suzee, Thanks for a great day

5.00I had a very short amount of time in Wellington and wanted to make the most of it. I wanted to find a tour company that would help me achieve this, and based on the reviews I chose Suzee at uTours. I’m so glad I did. You won’t get a better tour experience than this. She brought me by the best of Wellington, and out to Paekākāriki, Queen Elizabeth Park, and Paraparaumu. I was able to take in the beauty of the New Zealand landscape from perspectives you wouldn’t get on an ordinary tour. The tour van is very comfortable and safe. Suzee has a warm and welcoming personality. She makes you feel very comfortable, and provides you with a narrative so you really get an understanding and appreciation of your surroundings. Planning was easy. Suzee responded right away, listened to what I was looking for and delivered on it. I did not want a cookie cutter, tourist trap type of tour – and Suzee gave me exactly that. I’m so grateful I got to spend my time with her. A private tour with Suzee is well worth the money – especially for a single traveler. You won’t get lost in a crowd of people on a bus, you’ll see more and you will feel very safe. Thank you Suzee and uTours for a fabulous adventure!
