What To Expect
During this season in Mauritius, you can spot sperm whales, pilot whales, humpback whales, spinner dolphins, and bottlenose dolphins.The price covers the entire boat and includes snorkeling equipment, soft drinks, and some snacks.Our trips begins at 6 am. Starting early allows us to be the first boat out, enhancing our chances of encountering whales. The calm morning sea makes it easier to locate them using the hydrophone.Please note, swimming with whales is prohibited in Mauritius, and we strictly adhere to this regulation. We swim only with dolphins.After whale watching, we may also observe dolphins, provided there aren't too many boats pursuing them. If so, we prioritize not disturbing these marine animals.We aim to return by 9am about , depending on the location of the whales and dolphins. While spotting wildlife is never guaranteed, there's currently a 90% chance of encountering whales.We strive to provide the best experience possible every day!

5.00Incredible experience! Our guides worked hard to find the whales and allow us to observe them, as well as to swim with the dolphins. They were very concerned about our satisfaction and wanted to know if we were able to observe the animals and take photos of them. We appreciated their professionalism and kindness.

5.00Vic, Clémence and the team went above and beyond — when our dates couldn’t move, they organised an extra boat to fit us in. On the water: three sperm whales, crystal-clear dolphins, and a fish caught for good measure. Everything done ethically and with genuine care. Couldn’t recommend them more highly.

5.00Whale Dream exceeded every expectation from the moment we arrived. The excursion started punctually at 6am and was superbly organised from start to finish. Our captain and guides Tom and DJ were outstanding — knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely passionate about marine life. They took time to explain the natural behaviours of sperm whales in a way that was engaging for our entire family, including our daughters. We were incredibly lucky on the water. From around 6:30am to 7:15–7:30am we had extended, unhurried time observing several whales including mothers and calves — behaviour that Tom and DJ explained beautifully as it unfolded. Moments we will treasure forever. We then moved closer to Tamarin Bay where we spotted both bottlenose and spinner dolphins — a genuine thrill. The excursion wrapped up with 30 minutes of snorkeling near the reef, rounding out a perfectly paced morning. One thing I want to specifically commend Whale Dream for: they strictly abide by Mauritius law prohibiting swimming with whales. On the water that morning, we sadly witnessed other operators allowing their guests to jump in near the whales. It was deeply disappointing to see. Whale Dream's commitment to responsible, ethical tourism sets them apart and is something every visitor should consider when choosing an operator. If you are visiting Mauritius with your family, do not miss this experience — and choose Whale Dream without hesitation. Highly recommended.

5.00Arrived at marina at 6am. Good toilet facilities available. Taken to a spotless speed boat by a helpful girl, where we met Jason and Gigi our captains for the day. They explained the plan for our trip and we set off to find the whales. We were invited to listen with the sound device and found a mum and baby whale. It was amazing. Gigi offered to take under water video for us and took some fabulous family photos. We then moved to a different spot and found another 3! We were delighted and they are very respectful of the ocean. We then went to the dolphins where my daughter swam with them. There were about 25 of them swimming alongside her. They provided soft drinks and delicious cake. It was a truly wonderful experience. Thank you for a fabulous morning😎

5.00Absolute recommendation, it is worth every cent! Yesterday we went on a trip with Whale Dream to look for sperm whales and dolphins. The meeting point was already at 6.00 am, but getting up every minute early was worth it! There was another couple on the ship + 2 employees, so a private trip. First we were spoiled with an incredible sunrise, after about 1.5h we actually saw sperm whales and several different ones, each in pairs and even with baby. Sometimes it had many boats and unfortunately also many that sent their guests into the water (which is forbidden!), but Whale Dream is fortunately complying with the law and communicates this accordingly. Then we were lucky enough that a guide saw other sperm whales a little distance away, then it was just us with our boat and the two cozy giants, what an experience! Later we went back a bit and were still snorkeling with dolphins (which is allowed), which was also great. Back on the boat there was the well-deserved refreshment (cake/drinks) and a rapid ride back. They really did a great, professional job, I can recommend this trip to everyone, as long as you have no problem with rather smaller boats and waves:-)

5.00The whale and dolphin excursion was truly unforgettable. We were especially impressed by how the crew ensured we had excellent viewing opportunities throughout the trip. A special thank you to Tom for taking Isidore into the water to swim with the dolphins—it meant a lot to us. We’re very happy we chose to book with you. We only wish we’d had more cash on hand so we could have left a larger tip for the team.

5.00It has always been my daughter's dream to see whales so we booked the whale and dolphin spotting trip for her birthday. We had an excellent time with Gigi and Ludovig ( apologies if I haven't spelt that right ). They were very professional and told us all about the whales and dolphins that we were about to see. Nothing prepared us for the majesty of the whales and their calves and just how many we would actually see throughout our trip. Likewise with the dolphins and their babies. Also I have some mobility issues due to arthritis but they were so helpful in aiding me to move about on the boat and in getting on and off the boat. This experience to see the whales and dolphins was so superb I fear it has spoiled us for ever going on another as this set the bar so high. We would definitely recommend .
