Embark on a wildlife safari to encounter humpback whales between Paea and Papara, a still relatively untouched area. Our experienced and passionate guides will share information about their biology and supervise you if whale watching is possible, always respecting the approach guidelines established by the DIREN (Regional Directorate for the Environment).
You will board the Stenella, a comfortable and spacious 28-foot modern boat.
Please note: The weather can change rapidly. If you are prone to seasickness, consult your pharmacist. Bring sun and rain protection. We provide snorkeling equipment if you don't have your own.
Whale sightings are not guaranteed. These are unpredictable wild animals.

The boarding is immediate, there is no changing room nor office. We don"t have pick-up service.

What To Expect
Please note! Validation is not automatic and requires confirmation from us. You can also check the real-time availability on our website. We explore a sparsely frequented area in Paea and Papara, allowing us to approach the animals with respect. If all conditions are met, our guides will authorize you to enter the water, in accordance with the approach rules established by the DIREN. We have a listening system on board that broadcasts the calls of the males. To suit your preferences, three options are available: - Boat 6 swimmers (+observers) If you wish to fully enjoy the water entry in a small group - Boat 12 swimmers max For those on a tighter budget. If more than 6 passengers want to go in the water, a rotation system will be implemented. - Private boat for 1 to 12 passengers maximum The guide reserves the right to refuse swimming depending on the conditions. You must be able to swim at least 200 meters with fins, mask, and snorkel. Children under 10 years old are not allowed to swim. 5.00Sunny day in front of the maraa caves quite ventilate but finally very well isabelle very well accompanied us with a group of Canadian we visited the very beautiful coral garden about an hour then we headed to a second site just as beautiful, it was a very beautiful day to start again Isabelle shares her passion for marine wildlife with passion and professionalism I recommend you to all those who want to discover the seabed do not hesitate too top

5.00This was an incredible experience! While there is no guarantee on an excursion like this that you'll actually get to do the whale swim, our friendly and knowledgable guide, along with the boat captain, were able to find whales, and we were able to do the swim. The swim itself was a magnificent, heart-filling experience - and it was very respectful of the whales! We saw a few before finding the ones who seemed to be okay with our presence. All gear is provided or you can bring your own as I did - you swim quietly in a group behind the guide to the whales. I don't know if it's always like this, but mama and calf we encountered were playful and seemed as curious about us as we were about them. We did not chase them, we just hung out while they did flip turns and all sorts of acrobatic moves, swimming right up to us, maybe a couple of meters away. I felt very safe both with the marine life and with the swimming situation. The boat ride was also great - seeing the island from the water lends a whole new perspective. They were also tolerant of my lateness, and they didn't have to wait for me, but they did. I would recommend this particular company, Moby Dick, to anyone who is visiting Tahiti. You will feel happy and well cared for, and at the very least, you'll have a great boat trip and good company. It's a must do !

5.00We went out Sept. 2, 2025 with Isabelle and Alex and had the best, most amazing experience of a lifetime. We were alone in the big blue and Isabelle placed us in the path or two beautiful humpbacks that played and performed for us for sometime. We kept trying to move back from them but they were curious, peaceful creatures. Isabelle gave me an absolutely magical day, a true lifetime dream come to life. I highly recommend Moby Dick Tahiti, they are professional, organized, friendly, boat is pristine and they know how to find whales and give you an absolutely extraordinary experience!

5.00This was very special. A treat! Boat captain and tour host Isabella very knowledgeable and very accommodating. Spoke multiple languages so everyone could understand. Got to see momma and her calf. It felt unreal. So close yet felt so safe. Guides very respectful of the animals. Boat comfortable and snorkel equipment was provided as well as wet suit. Make time for this excursion!!

5.00A whale ride beyond our expectations. Isabelle and Vahima are very nice and professional. We were able to see many whales and put ourselves in the water very gently to go and observe them. The club located in a slightly more secluded place allowed us to be alone in the observation area, which was very nice. Club to recommend with your eyes closed

5.00Isa and Mickp have found 3 humpback whales with a lot of patience so early in the season near Tahiti Likewise, snorkelers were allowed to go close with the whales Great pictures and a goose bumps experience Thank you
