The guide was great, awesome to see the whales and dolphins, but the boat seemed to be in the wrong position. It was whipping the people all over when we were stopped to see the whales. It felt more choppy when stopped, rather than when moving. Have been whale watching a few times and never had this issue with the boat.

The crew was great, the other passengers were friendly, the weather was perfect and the whales cooperated when it was time to film them. Couldn’t have had a better experience.

We had a great time with Chris's Whale Watching. We found pods of gray whales, following them along. Our host was very knowledgeable and answered all questions the group had. My grandson was along who is going to go into Marine Biology. Our host spent some extra time with him talking about the bay/ marine life which was greatly appreciated. We'll be back!

We booked the day before and managed to get a couple of tickets for the 10:00am trip. All very efficient and thorough at the office. Excellent introduction and H&S talk by Captain Kevin. We saw Grey Whales and had a good sighting of a Humpback Whale. Additionally, sea otters, sea lions, albatross, cormorants, gulls and scoter.

Excellent trip, really enjoyed it. We went out with Kevin on the Star of Monterey , he looked after us, gave us the safety talk and kept coming round to see if we were OK. We saw Gray Whales and Humpback Whales they were fantastic to watch, we also saw lots of sealions, sea otters and pelicans. Kevin gave us a commentary over the microphone telling us about each thing we saw. A really rememberal trip would recommend 100%.

Started off good. Saw sea lions at the pier. Saw a large group of dolphins within about 10 minutes of departure. Went out about 10 miles or so to where the whales were expected. None were seen. On the way back in, captain said he saw something and circled for about 10 minutes. Don't think anyone on the boat saw a whale. Was later told by the captain that whales don't really migrate back to Monterey until April. Was given two rainchecks for a free tour, but living on the east coast, don't expect I will ever have a chance to use them.

highly recommend Chris' Whale Watching and Kevin as our First Mate was really funny and knowledgeable on the microphone. We did the 3-hour tour starting at 10am and were lucky to get great weather and see some large dolphins as well as some Killer Whales. The Orcas were a bit farther out than normal but our Captain didn't mind spending a little extra time to make sure that we got the experience we wanted. On the way back in a large Blue Whale was spotted which is apparently a very rare experience.
