White Pockets
Located far away from the beaten path. Located near the famous Wave. Unlike The Wave, White Pocket doesn't require a permit. White Pocket, a group of domes and ridges covering an area of one square mile, below a larger mesa lined by similar rocks. A pocket, in this sense, refers to a relatively small area of land markedly different to its surroundings, which here, like most of the plateau, are sandy plains sparsely covered by bushes and small trees. White, or light grey is the dominant rock color, in contrast to the red of the Coyote Buttes, but the general features are similar - swirling, thin-layered strata, adjacent layers of contrasting color, and curious erosive features. Other colorful pockets are found further south and east on the plateau, some also with an official name but most unrecognized. There are several dozen locations, all with the potential to have photogenic formations.

It exceeded expectations!! We started with strangers and ended up with friends. Ben was charming and so knowledgeable pointing out things we would never have noticed if we weren’t being guided and also greatly appreciated his exceptional driving skills on those sandy roads. It was an amazing sight to see!!

We had a great time on our White Pocket tour with ROAM Adeventures & guide JC. He was very knowledgeable and showed us all the awesome can't be missed areas and photo places. He even showed us a few tips on taking better iPhone photos. Would highly recommend Roam!

Jacey Harker and his friend guide Mr French were excellent . They got two jeeps for us when the original one had broken down - we were 5 . Two kids , us parents and my old father . The trip began in kanab and after a 2.5 hour drive we reached white pocket . We were inside taking pictures and Jacey has excellent photography skills matched by his friend . They were very courteous and took extra care of my old father whilst catering to my son’s questions etc . They carried water . EpiPen etc with them and never made us feel rushed . The place itself is beautiful and to top it all , on way back , we saw the california condours too . Tips - Carry walking sticks Carry some nausea med in case u can’t tolerate last few miles which are truly off road Carry extra batteries for your slr cameras .

Our White Pocket tour was amazing! ✨ Jecey was the perfect guide—super skilled at driving the tough road (he joked he could do it with his eyes closed!) and always caring, even stopping to check on a car that broke down. Once we arrived, he shared so much knowledge about the unique landscape, how it was formed, the plants and wildlife (these tadpole shrimp are crazy!) plus the story of Moqui Marbles and Moqui Cave. A perfect trip from start to finish. Highly recommend! 🌟

We had a spectacular experience in White Pocket. The scenery is otherworldly and it is quite worth the drive. Our guide Andi has made our day even better by taking us to the best photo spots :) We also stopped at a cookie shop at Jacob Lake Inn on our way back and the cookies were so delicious! Highly recommended excursion!
