This was the final part of my wildlife adventure in Africa. I was in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda before I arrived in Ethiopia. And Ethiopia did not let me down... it was full of great surprises. Armayer was my guide and Brook the driver. What a brilliant team. I came to Ethiopia for the sole purpose of experiencing the unique wildife. What brilliant luck I had the whole trip. I experienced Gelada Baboons, Abysinian Hares, Salt Dik Diks, Hamadruis Baboons, Bat Eared Foxes, African Golden Wolves, Oryxs, Sumering Gazelle, Porcupines, Wild Cat, Egyptian Mongoose, Aardwolf, Giraffe Gazelle, White Tailed Mongoose, African Clawless Otter, Oribe Antelopes, Bohor Reed Buck, Mountain Myana Antelope, Ethiopian Wolves, Giant Mole Rats, White Footed Rats, Grass Rats, and a Cerval to name a few. Nearly all were very close up. What luck I had as a newbie birdie too. The most exciting for me were many types of kingfishers and vultures, the Arabian Hoopoos, Pintail Widers, Crested Eagles, African Scops and Little Tail Owls. Armayer is one of the great guides whose knowledge on wildlife and cultures was immense. Very passionate about nature and Cost sure who got more excited when we had close encounters with the Ethiopian Wolves, the Ardwolf and the Cerval... what great moments we both won't forget. Cannot go wrong having Armayer as a guide. And it will be very difficult finding a driver like Brook. Very safe driver but what amazed me was his skills in maneuvering the vehicle very quickly and close to the wildlife. Further the car was very comfy, accommodation top quality, and the meals were all very tasty. Highly, very highly, recommend Armayer's tours. When going to Ethiopia contact him first as he can help you with everything.

Armaye customized a 12-day wildlife tour for me, a woman travelling alone, that began in the Awash region including Alledighe National Park and Hallaydeghe Asebot National Park, Bale Mountain National Park, Abijatta-Shalla Lakes National Park, and other preserves, lakes, and overlooks. I encountered all of the endemic and endangered species for which Ethiopia is working to preserve and other wider ranging endangered species. Armaye is an excellent communicator and the guide and driver he provided expertly navigated the challenges of travel in Ethiopia AND spotted the wildlife in their camouflaged surroundings. I was there in off-season and was rewarded with seeing many babies, juveniles, and the interactions of family units as well as some of the more elusive animals. The geology of Ethiopia is stunning!
