The magical plateau of Idrijske Krnice is surrounded by pristine nature at an altitude of 1000 m above sea level.
There are three underground forts on the property ''House On The Hill''. The first fort is used for a sauna, the second fort is a wine tasting room, and the third should remain a secret.
The fortifications were made between the First and Second World Wars, built by the Italian army and they are part of the Alpine Wall.
A unique opportunity to taste selected Slovenian or world wines paired with local dishes in the company of the local people.

What To Expect
In underground fortress we taste Slovenian or World wines (guest choice) and pair wines with local food. All food comes from nearby farms (local cheeses, local salami and homemade bread). The tasting is led by a third-level sommelier. First, we taste young cheeses and matching fresh wines selected by the sommelier. Then we degustate mature and aged cheeses and a meat cuts pairing with wines. During the degustation, we taste five wines.

5.00With a group of friends we visited Idrijske krnice. First we walked to the Lokvarski vrh which offered great views. Then we visited underground bunker for wine tasting. The host had an amazing collection of wines with great taste. Recommend to everyone!

5.00It was an astonishing wine tasting in a beautiful propetry in Idrijske Krnice near Idrija. Dejan is an enthusiastic sommelier with great experience and knowledge about wines. All wines were paired with local food. Highly recommended!
