Boat trip ok, bus and wine excursion top

5.00During the boat trip there was little information about the surrounding sights. On the bus tour there was a lot of information about the city of Trier and we drove past some of the famous Roman buildings. We also drove to a vantage point. The wine excursion was also very nice. There was a lot of information and the guide was very enthusiastic. After that we had some tasty flammkuchen.

3.00Felt disorganized, poor instructions for the “newbie”, did not realize the transport did not pick you up where the boat dropped you, took 15 minutes by foot in heavy traffic. Event oversold, not enough seats on hit bus for everyone. Stressful. Definitely geared toward German speakers. Did not understand some of the instructions, guide knew we did not speak German but did not alert us to transport at end of event. Sat for over an hour until finally asking how we were getting home. Was advised they would transport us when ready, info lost in translation. Got back to hotel 5 hours later. Staff at winery were very kind. If you speak German and like sweet wine you’ll probably have a great time, us, not so much. Wish we’d picked something else.

5.00We felt very well looked after by Mr von Nell. From the pick-up to the winery visit to the actual wine tasting, the experience was optimally organized. Wine and tarte flambée were excellent and we can highly recommend. A place that is definitely worth a visit if you want to travel to Trier
