What To Expect
Lake Sevan
The first stop of the tour is Sevanavank (the 4th century), which is included in the list of UNESCO cultural heritage sites. The first church of the complex was built in 305 by Gregory the Illuminator. This monastery is also known as "Mariamashen", i.e. "built by Mariam". An inscription found on one of the churches testifies that Sevanavank was founded by Princess Mariam in 874.
Haghartsin Monastery
Haghartsin also Hałarcin Monastery, is a 13th-century monastery located near the town of Dilijan in the Tavush Province of Armenia. It was built between the 10th and 13th centuries much of it under the patronage of the Bagratuni dynasty.
