5.00Our tour guide Margarethe was warm, knowledgeable, and thoughtful, as was our driver who picked us up in San Vincenzo where we were staying. We visited a winery just outside the Bolgheri appellation in the morning, where Natalia took us out to the vines and filled us with information about the soil, climate, and methods of their winemaking before taking us inside to a small feast of prosciutto and pecorino as we enjoyed four delicious reds, the last of which was 100% Cab Franc, which is apparently unusual. We bought some to ship home, then we were dropped off in the village of Bolgheri to enjoy an osteria lunch and further tasting of two wines. In the afternoon we went to one of Bolgheri’s largest producers for tastings that included a verantino, a rosé, and three reds while getting more instruction on this particular winemaker’s methods. The countryside is beautiful, with sea views, the Roman Pines that are so uniquely Italian, and acres of grapes. We are only advanced beginners as wine lovers, but we came away slightly more advanced! I dropped my wallet getting out of the van on our return to San Vincenzo, and a local man picked it up and used Natalia’s business card to reach me. Finally, Margarethe took many pictures and sent me 50+ to commemorate our day as well as making sure I had been reunited with my wallet. It was a perfect day, and I highly recommend Bolgheri Wine Tours when you visit this region, as you definitely should. It is Italy’s smallest appellation I believe but produces excellent wine.

5.00Immersive trip in Bolgheri with a focus on wines where the expertise of the guide (and also someliere) Margarethe made all the difference. In addition to the Portuguese language, he added with his knowledge of wine and the curation that only those who live there have. I highly recommend to those who want to know and drink Bolgheri DOC.

5.00We had an incredible wine tour in the Bolgheri region, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. The area itself is stunning, with rolling vineyards, charming villages, and, of course, world-class wines. Our guide, Marguerite, was absolutely fantastic. She brought the history of the region to life, the terroir, and the traditions that make Bolgheri so special. Her passion for wine and deep knowledge made the experience both educational and fun. She also had a wonderful way of making everyone feel welcome and engaged throughout the day. The wineries we visited were exceptional, each offering something unique—from beautiful cellars to breathtaking views and, of course, unforgettable tastings. We left with a much greater appreciation for the wines of Bolgheri and memories we’ll treasure for a long time.

5.00Margarethe was a wonderful tour guide and was able to accommodate within a very short notice of time for myself and my mother. She was even able to secure a tasting at a winery that did not have any availability for weeks! I will absolutely keep her in my contacts for the future!

5.00One of the highlights of our 2-week trip to Tuscany was spending the day with Francesca Beucci from Bolgheri Wine Tours, learning all about Bolgheri’s history and wine production. As a wine expert (WSET level 3), Francesca provided in-depth information that made the day interesting and informative. She chose two wineries, a larger production winery and a family-run winery for us to tour. Both winery representatives were warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The lunch we had at a local restaurant was amazing and gave us the opportunity to have a glass of Sassicaia. Thank you, Francesca, for a fun and unforgettable day in Bolgheri. If you love wine, you will love this tour!

5.00Our “personal” driver was waiting for us as we walked off the cruise ship. Francesca arranged everything giving us the option to get to Bolgheri on our own (more cost effective) or a personal driver. I bit expensive, but Emanuel was professional and the car was spotless. Francesca was waiting for us upon arrival. She had asked us prior, what our wine preferences were, along with food options. Francesca arranged for “private tours of two wineries. Both were fantastic. She stayed with us the entire time explaining the area (she’s SO knowledgeable). We’ve never had a wine tour that companies to this before. We loved everything about the trip. I hope Bolgheri stays this quaint area. It was not touristy!!! We bought some wine!!!
