This was an amazing tour. Our guide, Nancy, was very friendly and informative. She took care of all arrangements so our visit was seamless, and the castle is absolutely beautiful. We also got to taste a wide range of sake, which we really enjoyed. I would highly recommend this tour!

This was our first trip to the area and had used Viator tours in the past with great experience, unfortunately this tour was very disappointing. Upon meeting at the entry gate we met another couple that joined the tour and when introduced to our guide she could speak hardly any English and this was an English tour with a confirmed English guide. She was sweet but had NO knowledge of the castle and handed us a brochure given and the ticket counter and then followed us thru the castle directing any question we tried to ask back to the brochure. this tour was then to include a tour of one of the oldest Sake brewery and tasting. After completing the castle walk through we then approached the main road where the guide spent 30 min on the phone trying to locate Taxi for all of us to go to the brewery. We were then each sent in separate taxi's hoping to arrive where we needed to. Upon our arrival we had to wait 15-20 min for the other taxi and guests and guide to arrive. Our guide then spent 10 min walking with us to the brewery just directing us to pictures on the wall to read....Very sad as we saw other tours and guides spending time walking guests through various parts of the brewery and giving narrative... We then went to the tasting room where we tasted Sake from a coin machine in plastic sample cups. Overall not what was described and not worth the money we could have just done a self guided tour.

The Himenji Castle and Sake Tour was an amazing experience. We took the Shinkasen Train from Kyoto to Himenji and then a short walk from the Himenji Station to meet our guide. The Himenji Castle and grounds was immersive, large, informative and unique. Followed by a short cab ride to the Sake Brewery, overall it was an amazing experience and certainly worth seeing!! Compared to other pagada's and castles in Japan, Himenji is the top of the list!

Our guide was pleasant and helpful. The online description of the tour was different than the actual adventure. Thank you for leading us.
