Yala National Park

5.00Our guide collected us from our accommodation, and had us at the front of the queue to enter the park as the sun rose. We were fortunate enough to spot an elephant on the drive to the park- a very auspicious sign. Our guide showed his expertise and had us spotting elephants in small groups and even a leopard before lunch. He positioned us perfectly many times for exquisite views of wildlife such as deer, langur, birds and mongoose. He moved fast when there was something to be seen, but also had the patience to wait for wildlife to come across where he’d positioned us. A comfort stop was perfectly timed, and the provided lunch was much more than we could ever hope to finish. Highly recommended!

5.00The safari Is fun, we got lucky and got a driver who REALLY went out of his way to let us see every animal. I HIGHLY suggest you demand a good driver, because once you're in, the safari becomes a race. There are 20+ jeeps inside the park all at the same time and everyone is trying to take a picture of everything, most wanted is the Leopard, and if your driver doesn't know where to find every animal or doesn't have to eye to immediately notice them between the trees, you're out of luck. Our driver also made sure to always reposition the jeep to always give us the best view. Admission fee is a bit expensive, 35 just for the entrance ticket, I mean.. But the visit lasts 4 hours so I guess it's worth it.

5.00Definitely worth doing the full day safari if you want to see ALL of the animals in the park. My driver and guide Laki was perfect and superskilled! He was driving so good on the difficult roads while spotting animals i didn't even notice when he pointed them out. He answered all of my questions with a lot of extra information about the park and the animals very professionaly and really did his best to talk to other vehicles to know where there were sightings of animals. Thanks to this, we had the best view of a leopard passing by close, saw so many elephants - some even next to the vehicle - and so many more animals and beautiful views of the landscape. 100% would recommend!
