What To Expect
Yaxha
Yaxha is an archaeological site 75km away from Tikal. It is also a place where you can enjoy nature and water since it’s located between two lakes that can be seen from the top of several temples. Yaxha is located in the Mayan Biosphere Reserve. ITINERARY 7:30 a.m. – We will meet you and pick you up at your hotel or the airport. 9:15 a.m. – Arrive at Yaxha National Park and begin the tour. 12:15 p.m. – Tour ends and we’ll take you to have lunch. 12:45 p.m. – After lunch we head back to Flores 3.30 to 4.00pm: back at flores hotel THINGS TO BRING Snacks Hiking or tennis shoes Rain jacket Outdoor clothing Bug spray Sunscreen Personal medications INCLUDED Drinks for tour English/Spanish tour guide We can take photographs of you or your group Round-trip transportation with A/C from your hotel Park Fees. Amazing Yaxha Tour

5.00We had an amazing tour of Yaxha, I cannot recommend Elmer and Tikal VIP enough. They met us at our hotel and were very flexible with time, making it clear that we would be able to see everything and spend as much time as we wanted at Yaxha regardless of any delays to the start of the tour due to hotel issues. Since it was a private tour there were no guests other than my wife and me. The driver was very safe and vehicle new and good for the types of road. Elmer, the company owner and our guide, was fantastic. He is very knowledgeable and eager to share information about Mayan history, the archeology and research behind the information, the flora and fauna of the jungle, as well as general Guatemalan society. At the end of the day we were able to coordinate a tour of Tikal for later in the week that accommodated our non-standard trip requirements.

5.00Highly recomended!! The location is extremely interesting, the guide (Gelver) very knowledgeable and gentle. Transportation was perfect, with a brand new Van.
Recommended to know the magic in Tikal Yaxhá and Topoxté.

5.00All excellent with this experience, from the first contact with Elmer had patience and willingness to guide us in our destinations. We did Tikal, Yaxhá and Topoxté in one day, even though several told us that we would not succeed. Elmer, as a good professional adapted to our itinerary, toured several amazing places with detailed and interesting explanation. We had everything available, water, energizers and the food was very good. With regard to transport, the super comfortable, new and safe vehicle, the driver was Hannibal who has been touring the areas for years so more confidence when he embarks on the journey. We would definitely go back and hire them. Travelers I recommend you to also have this beautiful experience. Thank you very much Elmer and Hannibal!

5.00Yaxha should not be overlooked when visiting Mayan ruins. Not as busy as Tikal. You can feel more connected to the Mayan culture very special place. Also Using Elmer as your guide was the best decision we made he is very knowledgeable and has some great insights to the Mayan people.
Treat yourself to a day with Elmer - it's worth it!

5.00We had the most fantastic day at Yaxha with Elmer (and his driver, Rolando). We knew so little about Mayan culture and history but Elmer (and his perfect English) enlightened us and he made it all so interesting. We learnt a lot, we asked many questions and we laughed a lot - it was our best guiding experience in 3 weeks of travelling in Guatemala - I cannot recommend Elmer enough.

5.00The service provided by Fidias and Elmer was excellent. They arrived very punctual to pick us up, the car was spotless and they arrived with water and cold drinks. Elmer is a fantastic guide who knows a lot about history, botany and animals, he is a great connoisseur of the Mayan empire and Guatemala in general. And it all explains it very pedagogically. It was an unforgettable experience.

5.00We had a wonderful day at Yaxha with Elmer. He had a lot of information to share with us and was an excellent guide. The weather cooperated (no rain!) and the howler monkeys serenaded us as we walked through the forest and hiked up the ruins. We also saw an eagle and many other beautiful birds. The van was very comfortable and we were picked up on time at our air bnb

He took me all over the entire city of Yaxha and was able to answer all of my questions about the Mayan Civilization, the city of Yaxha itself, and the nature around us in the jungle. Extremely educated!! He knew so many details about every structure from their creation, use, and their excavation. We saw more animals than I can count, and he was able to tell me so many detailed and interesting facts about them all. Great photographer as well! Could not recommend this tour more.

5.00I had a great experience with Tikal VIP Tours. Elmer, the owner and guide is very knowledgeable (a university trained historian), very gracious and an overall good person with great pride in Guatemala’s history and culture. I saw some of the other tour groups rushing through the main sites, but Elmer took me to some hidden gems, and really made my trip special. I also loved the door to door service in a private new SUV. Definitely recommend booking with Tikal VIP!
