Borobudur the UNESCO site, Pawon and Mendut Temples are Buddhist Temples built by King Samaratungga of the Syailendra dynasty in the 8th century. The three Buddhist temples have interesting beliefs or embossed images depicting the life of the Buddha and his reincarnation in the form of Jataka and Lalitavistara stories.

Regarding purchasing tickets to climb the Borobudur temple structure, you can buy them online or directly on site. Tickets for the Borobudur structure can be purchased using a credit card or cash. During the holiday season, we recommend purchasing tickets online. There are two types of tickets for climbing the Borobudur temple structure: regular tickets and VIP access tickets. Regular climbing tickets can be purchased online or on-site, while VIP access tickets can only be purchased through the Manohara Hotel admin. Tickets for the Merapi Lava Jeep and Prambanan can be purchased directly at the easily accessible ticket counter. We recommend leaving an active WhatsApp number after booking this activity. We will confirm by sending a link to purchase your Borobudur ticket.

They recommend the best kuih lapis & bring us to savour delicious local food. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. 5.00I had booked a driver/car for the day as I did not want to to be rushed at the sites U was visiting. With Sholi as a driver I hit the the jackpot: he was very kind and funny. We loved a lot through the long day visiting the temples of Borobudur and Prambanan as well as the volcano Merapi. Inbetween we had good chats, I learned about his life in Yogyakarta and he provided me with water, fruit and boiled eggs. He was always waiting for me at the entrances of the sights and gave me all the time I needed. On top, he helped me organise the tickets etc. I gad a fantastic day and definitely recommend Sholi as a flexible & reliable driver for anybody’s adventures!

5.00We were picked up at 4 AM today by our driver, Sholi, who was perfectly on time. He drove us safely to the volcano and was incredibly friendly throughout the journey. He even provided water and bananas as breakfast. His colleague, Imam, the jeep driver, was also very kind and great company, offering insightful information as a fantastic guide. We were pleasantly surprised with a private photoshoot during the sunrise at the volcano. Afterward, Sholi was waiting for us and drove us safely back to the hotel, even sharing some extra travel tips along the way. We are extremely grateful to both drivers – they are so passionate about what they do, and thanks to them, this excursion became a true highlight of our vacation. We wish Sholi and Imam only the best, thank you both for this amazing experience. 🙏🏼 Sarah & Mister Koen ;)

Thanks Estri for the wonderful day out (despite the heavy rain towards the end of last tour at Prambanan). Deffo will visit Jogja again to try other adventures..
