Merida
Our Merida food tour offers guests a culinary experience around the old city. It's a carefully curated food adventure, led by our team of Merida tastemakers. Before we get started, our tour reflects the local cuisine, and the limitations of street food vendors and local eateries mean we cannot cater for every dietary restriction. Here's an honest appraisal for the tour, so no-one is disappointed: ✘ Unsuitable for vegetarian, vegan and pescatarian diets, as the number of tastings would be very limited. ✔ Gluten intolerance and mild nut allergies are possible, though not all tastings have alternatives. ✔ Suitable for no seafood diets If you are feeling adventurous for a foodie journey, read on!
Merida
Step into the culinary heart of the Yucatán. In Mérida, food is inseparable from history, shaped by ancient Maya traditions and later influenced by Spanish, Lebanese, and Caribbean cultures. The result is a cuisine unlike anywhere else in Mexico. This four-hour food tour with 15+ tastings is an edible crash course in Yucatecan flavours, designed to help you truly understand the region’s cooking. With more tastings than any other food tour in the city, there’s far too much to list, but highlights include crispy panuchos filled with smoky relleno negro, papadzules bathed in pumpkin seed sauce, crusty tortas stuffed with slow-roasted lechón, and refreshing tamarind nieves finished with chilli-spiked chamoy. This experience isn’t about fine dining. You’ll eat where locals eat: bustling markets, street carts, hole-in-the-wall joints, and family-run eateries that have been feeding Mérida for generations. Come hungry and leave with a deeper understanding of Yucatán's cuisine.

We had a wonderful tour with our 5 year old foodie! She loved all of the tastings and especially the people we met along the way. The Mayan lady selling fruit was a highlight, as was the Crema Marisca, the spice aisles and the black chile sauces. Wonderful way to get a feel for the city and a beautiful introduction to Yucatan flavors!

Fantastic tour. We really loved getting a tour around the market and having food at the non-tourist places. Our guide and his trainee were knowledgeable and friendly and I only wish we had had time to do the evening tour as well!

What a great experience this was. This is our first ever walking/food tour and I’m sure glad it was here in Merida. The Yucatán flavor is quite amazing. Every dish we tried was delicious. Definitely worth booking. Ask for Adrian Diaz. He is very knowledgeable about the history and the influence the Mayan culture has in the area. He was an amazing guide. He definitely was a bonus to our experience. (Muchas gracias Hermano Adrián 👍🏼🙂👋). Till next time. 🙂

Adrian took us to several locations, and explained not just what we were eating, but also the importance of the food to the local culture. He was very informative, Warning: come hungry!! This is no joke!

This was easily 5/5 if not more. Nestor did a great job on the tour as our guide and took us to so many incredible stops that we would have never found. We have gone to a chefs tour prior to this so when we saw they had one in Mexico is was a no brainer! You have to try this!

This is 1000/10 food tour. My wife and I took part in January of 2026 and we are so thankful we did. We ate 15 incredible dishes as we wandered through the rich culture of Merida. Nestor our guide knew so much about Mexican & the Yucatan History, which just added to the experience. Cant recommend enough!!
