Juan was great. A certified knowledgeable guide that oversaw our safety through the rocks and waterslide. He ensured we had plenty of water time and exploration. Highly recommend!

I went on my tour on July 7th at 8 a.m. My guide was the GREATEST !!! He took his time to answer all of our questions. The tour he gave was excellent. He helped us navigate thru the rough terrain. He took awesomeness pictures and videos of us. He was a really great guy and guide. He gave us a wonderful experience that we will never forget. I highly recommend this company.

Juan was a pleasant guide, knowledgeable of the fauna and flora within the rainforest and history of the island. I did have an unfortunate fall but was cared for in a hurry and made it back safely. Thank you for that experience

  • Definitely the tour you want for this rainforest!

Our guide Jan was incredible! Very knowledgeable and friendly and fun! He took all the pictures and videos we wanted, he made sure we got over the hard parts of the trail easily. He had a fun way to teach about the rainforest, we saw several animals and learned about the plants. We were hesitant about the water activities but they were awesome!

We had a great visit to the rainforest. The early start allowed us to beat the crowds and enjoy the water activities before it got too crowded. On the hike back our tour guide Jan took the time to educate the group on the rainforest. Also thank you to Jan for helping with our transportation!!

  • Fun tour and great guide!

Juan is a fantastic guide, and my family had an amazing time in the rainforest! He is knowledgeable about the flora and fauna so the hike to the swimming/jumping area was filled with a lot of great info! It's a muddy and slippery hike, and he provided helmets for us to wear for our safety. Apparently not every guide who does this is trained and credentialed, so if you want a great experience and to stay safe (my kids can be a little clumsy!) then book this tour!

My friend and I took this tour. Jan was our fabulous guide. He was super nice, patient, encouraging, and well-informed. He made me feel safe, and gave me the option to climb a rather large rock or take a slightly longer, less challenging route to get to the water slide. (More on this later.) The highlights: - You’re hiking through an honest to goodness rainforest! The scenery is breathtaking. - The water is cool and refreshing. - This was virtually a private tour. I can’t stress enough how great this was especially after seeing so many larger groups arrive after us. - Interactive teaching methods. We had a little scavenger hunt and tasted some edible flowers. - Great guides. Lots of hand holding, if required. - Drink fresh water from a mountain spring on your climb to pool two. Things to know before you go: - You will follow your guide, by car, from the designated meeting point into the rainforest and pay to park on private property. It is currently $5. - No bug spray needed. I know. I was surprised, too. - Our guide had water, if needed. No snacks. I highly recommend eating/hydrating before you go!! - The guide will take pictures and video for you and text them to you at the end of the tour. If you want your own photos in addition to these, your guide may be able to stow those items for you. Jan had a waterproof backpack, so he kept it for me until I got back down to the bottom. If you have concerns about this, ask your guide before you go. He will text you the day before the tour. - It is a rainforest. It may rain while you're there. It did for us. The trail may be muddy and slippery in places. Wear good shoes that you won't be sad to trash if they get ruined. You will get dirty and wet. - The tour provides life vests and helmets. - The pool at the bottom of the slide is 20 feet deep. - You will have to wade through a little pool with fish in it coming back from pool two. Mountain mullets. They won't bother you. Regarding the hike itself: - There are two pools. It is a challenging hike to get to the first one and some of it is uphill, but if you are in good physical condition, take it slowly, and listen to your guide, you will be alright. - Once you arrive at the first pool, you will have the option to stay here and relax in the cool water or proceed further uphill for the rope swing and/or water slide. This is harder, and you WILL have to rock climb to get there. However, there are two routes you can take. The shortest route will find you climbing a very large smooth rock, and your guide may have to help you up there. I was recovering from a broken foot (healed but still tender), so I chose the less challenging route which is a bit longer, but I have no regrets about that. - I am 52 with a few extra pandemic pounds that will indeed be coming off when I get back because that would've made all of this much easier. My friend is 65, and a little less adventurous, so she elected to stay at the first pool. Knowing her the way I do, she made the right choice. Take a moment to watch the others, and then decide. Trust your gut! Overall, I highly recommend this tour. We originally looked at Kayaking Puerto Rico because they seemed to be the most popular with tourists, came up first in a Google search, and had a couple extra perks. Due to no availability, we ended up on this tour with Jan, and had a wonderful time. Positive experience all the way around. They're just a smaller company. Give them a chance. You won't regret it. It's the same route everyone else takes.

  • Great adventurous experience!

We had a great time with Jan for our tour today! All the details of meeting up with him and going to the hike were in order, and he did a great job guiding us through the muddy paths and rocks to enjoy a nice natural water slide, cliff jumping, rope swing, and a fun little scavenger hunt on the way back! Jan was very knowledgeable on the plants and history as well of El Yunque which was very fun. Overall had a great time!! One recommendation - come prepared to get dirty and embrace the mud; wear good shoes if you can to travel on the paths without slipping as much! You will have a chance to wash off halfway and at the end again :)

Our guide, Juan, had a monumental task of guiding four people, two 20-somethings and two 80-somethings. And, he pulled it off with flying colors. He respected the abilities of all of us. The terrain was rocky, steep, and very muddy and slippery. Juan encouraged me and kept me calm and safe with his helping hand. He shared his knowledge of the flora and fauna with us also. His experience and humor made our hike an unforgettable Puerto Rico memory.
