What To Expect
Zaanse Schans
After pickup, we will drive to the beautiful country side of the Netherlands and first visit a village filled with Windmills. The windmills in the Netherlands were used for taking water away from the land but also to saw woods and produce pigments. We will visit the interiors of one of the windmills to see how it actually functions.
Volendam
Volendam is a small Fishermans village and visit a local cheese producer where you can learn about Gouda and Edam cheese.

Best Experience in Amsterdam—Hands Down

5.00This was, without question, the best experience we had in Amsterdam. Spending the day with Allen felt less like a tour and more like exploring with someone who truly knows and loves the area. Everything was customized and intentionally away from the crowds, which made it feel relaxed and personal from start to finish. Allen is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also just a genuinely great person to talk to. Easygoing, engaging, and the kind of guide you wish you had everywhere you travel. Getting out to the tulip fields and actually walking through them was unforgettable. Being able to experience that up close, without the crowds, made it feel special in a way the typical tours just can’t match. If you’re coming to Amsterdam and don’t do this, you’re missing one of the best experiences available. I would book this again without hesitation.

5.00We had a great day with Allen. He was very knowledgeable and easy going. Took us to see the sites and also stopped so we could see the amazing tulip fields and take pictures. Definitely recommend this tour with Allen!

5.00Perfect day! Allan drove us from place to place efficiently and was able to answer a variety of questions not only about the tour but also about the Netherlands in general. The tour stops were all great, and being on a private tour rather than a large bus tour was ideal. I also liked that the tour stops were carefully selected for a half-day experience focused on our interests rather than rushing to many different locations all day. Highly recommended!

5.00Experiencing close up and inside a windmill was interesting. Our guide Allen was excellent and informative. Spending time in Volendam and Edam and getting away from the big city to see the lifestyle was great. This tour was overall well done!

4.00Mostly enjoyed the day. The countryside was beautiful. Alen was friendly and happy to answer questions. Only negative the car had dirty windows so it was difficult to see out. Loved our walks through Volendam and Edam. Worth doing this tour to get out of Amsterdam and see the beautiful Dutch countryside.

5.00As I reflect back to a month ago when we took this tour with Allen, I can saw it was worth every euro and more. Being able to see the country side outside Amsterdam was great and Allen’s narrative was informative and interesting. Besides the touristy town of Zaandam North we especially loved both the seaside town of Volendam Haven, where we had a lovely lunch on the docks, then the even more beautiful, quant town of Edam was a highlight. It was the perfect way to get out and about when you have mobility issues. Allen was also gracious enough to provide options for dining in Amsterdam for later in our trip. We highly recommend Allen and his personal service.

5.00Had the most amazing tour of Zaanse Schans, Edam and Volendam. Allen was an incredible tour guide and host who picked my colleague and I at our hotel and dropped us back. Loved the private tour experience - especially the small town / local flavors. Also loved the Clogs workshop. It was a beautiful Sun afternoon experience - unhurried, informative and fun. Carrying home heart filled with gratitude, lots of cheese and thoughtful souvenirs. A must see and do!
