Travel through wonderful scenery to the beautiful mountain villages of Zagoria and see the breathtaking Vikos Gorge. These tiny sleepy villages nestle beneath pine-clad towering peaks, are made up of humble stone cottages and grand mansions that were once connected only by paths and old stone bridges. Pause at the village of Monodendri and visit the 15th-century Agia Paraskevi Monastery.
Admire the large Vikos Gorge and learn about its history from your guide. Enjoy a traditional lunch in the middle of the day.

The monument to the proud women of the Pindos In November 1940, the Greek soldiers had been fortified in the mountains and were fighting in the area of Vrysochori. Due to the distance from Zagori, the nearest village, they faced serious problems with their supply of ammunition food and water, however. The women of Zagori actively participated in the war with their timely supplies to the Greek forces that were fighting to stop the fascist invaders, who were trying to reach Metsovo through the valley of Aoos.

The bustrip took us high into the mountains where we saw the most breathtaking nature. We had a longer stop in the charming mountain village of Monodendri, where we had time to stroll around and soak in the atmosphere. Lunch (included) was served at a local hotel and featured a regional specialty – chicken pie – which was delicious.

A lot seen in 1 trip! I was really amazed by the Vikos Gorge. Could have stared at it for an hour! Because of the many stops, the time per stop was relatively short. But I'm glad I've seen so much beauty

Great trip! Must see! Tour guide was great and so was Niko the driver. I would highly recommend visiting Vikos and Zagorohoria for fantastic scenery.

This was a very nice trip. We had a small party and a smaller bus that makes just a little more possible. During the ride we were able to enjoy not only all Things to do but also the very enthusiastic explanation of the tour guide Yvonne. She knew a lot about the environment, the past and the culture.

It was a truly memorable day with a great pace and excellent commentary from Joanne (?). The walk to the monastery took longer than expected so perhaps a bit longer in that location, otherwise very very good.

All round a totally enjoyable trip. The guide Yvonne ( who we met on Meteora last year) is such a fabulous tour guide and made the trip so interesting.

I booked this as a last minute trip and I am so glad we did. The gorge is absolutely stunning and the walk to the view point is through beautiful woodland. I would also recommend taking the trek to the tiny monastery which is really special and again provides another view point of the gorge. To finish the day we visited ancient bridges which gave another perspective of the area. All together a rather brilliant way to see this unexplored part of Greece. And Yvonna was a really chatty and informative guide. I'd urge you to go if you are in the area.

Fantastic view, you are short of words. During the drive there was told all about the myth and legends of the area by yvonne. The immense depth of the gorge and the beautiful arch bridges will stay with you for a long time.

Beautiful trip through the Zagoria. What made it extra special is the travel guide Yvonne. She tells wonderful mythological stories so that the journey is extra alive.

Beautiful trip with a small van. Had a nice Dutch chat with a super nice tour guide. With which we had already had the day before to the Meteora monasteries. Again she had beautiful stories and facts. So thanks in part to the efforts of Yvonne. Had another wonderful day trip.
