Our food tour will start at the central square of the city of Zagreb. While the square's official name is Ban Jelačić Square, locals call it Jelačić plac. It is located right below the old city cores called Kaptol and Gradec. In the 17th century the square was called Harmica, and it was used as a marketplace for the entire town. Today it's the heart of the city and most of the major events in Zagreb happen at Ban Jelačić Square.
After a very brief walk we will arrive at the European square. The square is overlooked by the cathedral and it often hosts outdoor events, such as craft markets and DJ sets. At the square you will be able to view a miniature model of the city of Zagreb, with all its major locations and streets.

We were very happy with our tour of Zagreb. Our guide Damien was very informative and the restaurants he chose for us were perfect. We would recommend this tour for anyone visiting Zagreb. If you could request Damien as your guide, even better.

The guide never showed up to the meeting location, and I waited 15 minutes past the designated time, never receiving a message back. I was only in Zagreb for two nights, so missing this tour means the stop was a complete waste of time and money for me.

Damjan was a great tour guide. He was interesting and personable, and put a lot of effort into making sure we were enjoying ourselves. He was very knowledgeable, and we learned quite a bit about Zagreb. Plenty of food, appetizers, 2 different main dishes (at 2 different places) and dessert. All plates were accompanied by typical Croatian wines or drinks, and accommodations were made for the non-alcohol drinkers. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and loved walking and eating our way through the city.

The food of Croatia is hardy and warm. Along with a factual history lesson and walking tour of historic Zagreb, we enjoyed the tastes of the area which are described as a melting pot of neighboring countries. Prepare for a bit of walking, an enjoyable time, and good food. We did the walking tour of Zagreb before the food tour and discovered there’s no need to do both. The food tour covered the area and most of the information the walking tour covered, plus the food and drink at a traditional restaurant and a few local establishments. We also walked through the Christmas market being the holiday season as well as the underground tunnel.

We did a late Nov. tour, which started @ 16:00, so we experienced not only the city lights coming on, but the Christmas lights too. Really enjoyed Damjan’s wit & knowledge of the city. Four nice choices of wine & food locations along with interesting & historical facts & sites of the city walking tour. Thank you, Damjan! I would recommend this tour.

What a wonderful experience, who won't love food but Damijan, our guide, made it fun with food which was what made the whole experience so amazing. Damijan is passionate, witty and knows his city and cuisine. We had such an amazing night.
