• Chamonix history, Savoie wine tasting and charcuterie board

  We met Carla at the L’Arve hotel where we started the tour with a delicious welcome cocktail and some local deli meat. We then proceeded on an hour walking tour of Chamonix where Carla explained many of the local sites and historical information of Chamonix. Upon completion of the walking tour, we headed back for a wine tasting and charcuterie board. Carla is very knowledgeable about wine and food pairings and she shared her knowledge with us as we tried 3 different local wines (with no quantity limit) paired with several meats, cheeses and fruits allowing us to experience different aspects of the wines. Carla is very passionate about sharing her knowledge of the local wines, cheeses and meats and gave us several dining options and places to purchase local goods. It was a pleasure to spend time with Carla.

She is incredibly knowledgeable and has a talent for explaining complex information in a way that is accessible, even for those without prior wine knowledge. Carla also provided a detailed and engaging history of the Chamonix region, which added meaningful context to the tasting. She was both professional and friendly throughout the experience, creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. Her expertise and depth of education were evident, and the experience felt like an immersive wine class condensed into just a few hours.   Karla delighted us with her detailed stories of the local history and then an unforgettable wine tasting of 4 local wines. She is so knowledgeable and creative in taking memorable pictures of us at the perfect spots. It was a wonderful experience.

  My daughter & I spent a lovely few hours with Karla, firstly walking around the town & learning the history. Then we sampled local wines & charcuterie. Karla shared her knowledge about both and overall we had a great relaxing time.

  It was raining so we only did the wine tasting. The local wines and charcuterie were delicious, and Karla did a great job explaining them. She also promptly gave us a partial refund because we didn’t do the walking tour.

  We visited Chamonix and joined a tour with an expert wine guide who gave us a very energetic and fun cultural experience. She stood out for being patient and kind, explaining every detail and answering all our questions about French culture. The aperitif experience was amazing—there’s an activity I won’t spoil here, but it was something I’d never done before, and I finally learned how to truly taste wine. I’ve already recommended her to friends, and I’ll be sure to contact her again whenever I return!
