Premium lounge not worth the money!

3.00Purchased tickets on the premium lounge expecting just that. Sadly it fell short of the mark. The lounge seats were comfortable and there was a nice breakfast available once we sailed, however this was all cleared away fairly quickly. Any alcoholic drinks, which were included were in a locked cupboard and had to be dispensed by the attendant. Unfortunately the attendant was absent for most of the trip! Certainly not worth the money that we paid and would just buy a standard ticket if we travelled with Interislander again. We did the return trip with the competitor which was a much better experience overall.

3.00Naturally fabulous scenery. We travelled on a beautiful sunny day. Was disappointed that not all on-board ship services were available. Bar was closed and some lounge/seating areas were closed off for no apparent reason. We noticed a lot of people had brought their own food and drinks on board. Understandable after viewing limited menu and cost of food.

1.00Booked months in advance. Interislander cancelled the night before (technical issues). They thoughtfully rebooked me on their next available ferry - weeks later. I checked online bookings and all ferries were sold out for days. This felt like a disaster that would not be easy or cheap to remedy. We managed to contact Bluebridge Ferry and were told they were full but would put on a standby list. Fortunately, they squeezed us onto a Bluebridge ferry the next day (last car on). The Bluebridge ferry was very nice. The last minute ferry fee with Bluebridge was higher than I paid for my interislander crossing. I have requested that Interislander refund the difference. Have heard nothing from them.
Long walk to board for people in ate 60.s with backpacks etc..collecting luggage also a pain...

2.00The actual ferry was pleasant enough and the staff were all very helpful. For a three hour boat trip, we were asked check-in two hours before hand (after already experiencing a five hour delay). Getting off the boat was a similar experience. The passenger ramp in Wellington (the capital city of NZ - get it fixed??) was out of action, so we disembarked via the car ramp, after all the cars had gone. Once we finally got off, we waited another 30 mins for the checked in bags. Once we had our bags, it seemed that the ferry terminal was in a taxi and uber “desert” Unless you have a car or camper van, do yourself a huge favour and fly. What a waste of a whole day of our holiday.

4.00Windows need washed, a little updating of the furniture and usb/c/plug charging would have been beneficial, but this company doesn’t control the weather or the seas. The food/cafe options met the need.
