What To Expect

Portage Lake Overlook

からはポーテージ湖と周辺のチュガチ山脈の素晴らしい景色を眺めることができます。アンカレッジから南へ車で約1時間、ポーテージ氷河道路を外れたところにあるこの見晴らしの良い場所からは、氷河が溶けてできたターコイズ色の湖を眺めることができ、晴れた日にはポーテージ氷河を遠くに眺めることができます。

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

アンカレッジから南へ約1時間、スワード・ハイウェイの近くに位置するこの200エーカー（約1万坪）の広さを誇るセンターでは、クマ、ヘラジカ、バイソン、ジャコウウシ、ヘラジカ、カリブー、ワシ、オオカミなどの在来種を自然主義の囲いの中で間近で見ることができます。敷地内を一周する1.5マイルのループを歩いたり運転したり、ガイド付きツアーに参加したり、餌やりや教育トークに参加することができます

Awesome transportation to Anchorage

Adam was amazing ! He checked in with us two days prior to pick up . He wanted to make sure that he had enough room for everyone’s luggage and to ensure he brought enough snacks .He also asked us for our drop off locations in Anchorage so that you could map it out most effectively.. and picked us up promptly on time and did a small tour of Whitaker for us and made sure that we made the tunnel because once it’s closed, you have to wait an hour. We went to the animal conservatory. He drove us to several spots so that we could avoid the mosquitoes.. The mosquitoes were ferocious. He once again made sure and tried his best to keep them out of our van. The van was a brand new Ford 11 passenger van. We had only six people so it was comfortable . After seeing all the animals who took us to streams and parks all along the way to Anchorage. He was attentive and very knowledgeable. I recommend this adventure.

I loved the hike! But the whales hump back and orcas along with the sea lions stole the show. Wish I could post the amazing pics here.
