This experience is built around something most visitors to Modena never get to see.
You’ll step inside a traditional family-run acetaia in Modena, closed to the public, and taste authentic balsamic vinegar aged over 25 years, learning how this “Black Gold” is truly made.
From there, you’ll explore Modena through its food traditions, meeting local vendors and discovering the stories behind Parmigiano Reggiano and tigelle.
You’ll walk through the historic Albinelli Market with a local perspective, seeing beyond the stalls and understanding how everyday Modenese food culture works.
Along the way, you’ll uncover small traditions and surprising local habits, such as gnocco fritto enjoyed with cappuccino, that most visitors never notice.
With a maximum of 8 guests, you’ll enjoy a more personal experience, with time to ask questions and connect directly with the people behind the food.

5.00This food tour was exceptional. Wandering the streets of Modena, an insight into the history, and stopping at different locations for sampling of local food was incredibly good. We were introduced to a wide range of foods, and the markets visit was fantastic. Such high quality food and variety, coupled with the knowledge and expertise of our guide was excellent. Would highly recommend the tour for those wanting to sample local and regional foods,

5.00Loredana was a very charming and experienced guide. Lots of tasty food stops and at pretty slow pace on a hot day in Modena. Market, cafe, balsemica shop and a gelati shop. Loredana was very kind and caring for all the people in our group including two small children.
A real must do if you want to taste Modena.

5.00We had a really lovely, full and exciting food tour with our guide Loredana. In total we were with 6 persons. The places we visited, the food and wine we tasted, all great. Loredana was very knowlegde-able and we could ask her all kinds of questions. All in all a great experience in a lovely group.
