• Great introduction to Glasgow

  This tour was worth every penny, and I highly recommend doing it as your first activity when you come to Glasgow. The pace is just right, and the most important city events are highlighted along the way. Our guide, Johnny, not only knew the entire history of the city but was also very well-informed about current events in Glasgow and Scotland itself. He takes a genuine interest in where people are from and somehow always finds a way to connect it back to Scotland or Glasgow. What impressed me the most, though, was receiving a full itinerary with personalized suggestions just about half an hour after the tour ended—this really shows the effort he puts into each tour.

  Johnny was a fantastic tour guide…probably one of the best tour guides we have ever had on a tour. He knew so much about Glasgow (history, buildings, stories and more) and because of his local connections, was able to take us in to some unique places. He even followed up with a lengthy, detailed lists of all the places he mentioned (and more). I definitely recommend this tour.

  This is an excellent overview of Glasgow with a great deal of information about its history, religion, the arts and its people. The pace of the walk was not strenuous at all, and it ended near a subway station. The best part of this tour was the guide! He was at the meeting point early, had an engaging personality and was full of knowledge of the city. The three hours flew by and we all enjoyed this experience. Book it!

  Such a good tour. In depth, not too large, Irn Bru refreshment break, off the beaten path moments, personalized recommendations sent afterwards. Book it. p.s. thanks for the fried haggis recommendation!

  I chose this tour based on other reviews and I am so delighted that I did. Jonny shared enthusiastically about Glasgow, past and present. We did a lot of walking but it was so worth it.

  Can't praise Johnny with Gander Walking Tours enough. He regaled us with relevant information and stories about Glasgow. I was able to impress my hosts who live in Glasgow with stories and fun facts that they never knew! The three hours passed by in a flash, leaving us all wanting for more time to explore the city with Johnny. Really appreciated Johnny's knowledge, candor, humor and bringing Glasgow alive to a first time visitor. Was kind enough to share a two page document of places and things to do around Glasgow for the rest of our visit.

  Very beautiful excursion with Johnny! Beautiful discoveries. We saw murals that we definitely would not have noticed without him. I recommend it without hesitation. He knows the history and architecture of the city of Glasgow.
