What To Expect
Shiga Kogen
Arrive at one of the ski resorts (Including Shiga Kogen) chosen by our staff based on the snow condition of the day. Our staff member will distribute and activate your lift passes, and help you unload equipment from the bus, and point out any necessary information. Those who booked lessons will move with the our staff member to the reception office for the ski school. Those who did not book lessons can go to the slopes as they wish.

An Unforgettable Ski Day Trip Experience with Snow Monkeys Resorts (Nagano)

5.00I booked two tours with Snow Monkeys Resorts in Nagano, and both were absolutely fantastic. I made a mistake with my booking date, and Shawn was incredibly kind and flexible in helping move me to another day—stress-free and handled with genuine care. That level of customer service alone deserves praise. The ski day trip was amazing. When they say they provide all the gear, they truly mean it—skis, boots, poles, helmet, plus jacket, pants, and gloves are all included - perfect for travelers who don’t want to bring their own equipment. Our tour guide, Joyce, was phenomenal. She was not only incredibly knowledgeable and organized, but also took the time to share thoughtful insights into Japanese life and culture beyond the standard tour information. Those personal touches made the day feel immersive and meaningful. From seamless logistics to warm, human-centered service, Snow Monkeys Resorts delivered excellence at every level. 5.00My wife and I went on a one day ski trip and had a blast. Everything was planned perfectly, the Snow Monkey staff is very professional and friendly. We had Joyce as I guide on our day trip. She took care of us and gave us a lot of information and stories about life in Japan. In the end of the day we became more knowledgeable about the country. The day was sunny and the conditions in the ski resort were excellent. We were very happy with everything. No doubt - 100% recommended by us.

5.00Entire experience was pleasant. Team was helpful from pre-booking to after event. I had a few questions before getting the packahe and they were so helpful, attentive and responsive. During the day of event, Joyce was timely and helpful. Nadine as well as a few others too. Glad that we didn't have to worry about the outfit or ski lessons because everything was nicely arranged. We had Bailey as our instructor for the two of us and he was great. We had sufficient time to try skiing (falling) on our end and enjoyed the smooth ride back. Thank you so much! Would definitely recommend
Chaotic and poorly planned for the bad weather

3.00Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 teens) were looking forward to a fun day skiing. The boot and ski rental process was chaotic and staff seemed frazzled with each other . After a 2.5 hour drive to the ski resort (which was unavoidable due to the heavy snow and bad road conditions) one of the boots was inadvertently not loaded and while the company paid to have replacement boots rented for my family member at the resort, it also wasted another 30 minutes (getting bindings reset, etc) . There are several resorts that can be chosen but because 9 members of the tour group wanted to have lessons, the company needed to use one particular resort. Unfortunately this resort’s lifts closed early due to wind conditions. The tour operator should have looked at weather conditions (there is an app of the mountain areas) and dropped off the non-lesson group to a different location of the resort based on ski run lift openings and group ski level preferences. All of this to say, my family of experienced skiers skied only 4 runs on green terrain for the entire day. We understand that the weather was the biggest factor but better planning by the operator for this situation would have been preferable . All of the staff were very friendly.

5.00Was an amazing experience, Nadine was our tour guide an American who spoke fluent japanese so it made the whole process super easy. The bus picked us up from the hotel and took us to the office where we got all the kit. The gear was very good, practically brand new and it was higher tier equipment (K2) (snowboards, boots etc.) Highly recommend using these guys if you come to Nagnao for tours. Located right next to Nagno Train Station.

5.00Orlando and Nadine were super helpful, patient and kind. It was our first time snowboarding and we were very pleased with the entire experience. The private transportation and clothes rental was great and seamless. We had hired an instructor to teach us for 2 hrs and after that it was free and easy. I highly recommend to everyone to try this package if you enjoy having a fuss free one day out experience without having to travel and stay overnight outside of Nagano. Five stars!

5.00I had an amazing ski day at Shiga Kogen thanks to my knowledgeable and helpful guide, Orlando. I was visiting Japan with a friend who is not a skier, but I had heard such great things about skiing in Japan that I didn't want to miss the opportunity . This one-day ski trip from Nagano was perfect for me. I was solo but this tour would also be great for couples, families, or small groups. Orlando picked me up at the station around 7:30am and we made the very short walk over to pick up the equipment. I needed to borrow skis, poles, boots, and a helmet -- but they can kit you out with jackets and ski pants if needed. From there, we made the scenic hour-long drive up to the ski mountain. Orlando knows the mountain really well, so he gave me lots of info and tips to make the most of my day. I had a blast on the slopes. Wide open groomers but also quite a bit of powder. There were lots of places to get lunch -- delicious but not overpriced. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to experience a bit of Japan's ski culture, even if you don't stay on the mountain. It's a very doable day trip from Nagano and the views along the drive are stunning. On the way back to Nagano, we even saw some snow monkeys on the side of the road.

The experience was nothing short of amazing—perfectly organised and effortless. A huge thanks to Orlando and Kevin for their exceptional service! Despite our last-minute booking, Kevin efficiently customised, arranged everything, ensuring a seamless process. Orlando took great care of us during the trip, making the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. This daily snow trip is well-designed and highly convenient. We booked two consecutive days and had the opportunity to visit two different snow resorts, which was a major advantage over staying in just one location. It allowed us to explore and experience a variety of ski resorts around Nagano. I’m already looking forward to joining this incredible tour again on my next visit! Their website is also a fantastic resource, offering a comprehensive guide for visitors planning a trip to Nagano and its snow resorts.
