Infotainment at its best! The personal demonstration of the printing press by Mrs. König was an unforgettable highlight of our tour of the Gutenberg Museum. Then there were the many pieces of gusto in the museum - highly recommended!

What amazing experience! Judith was phenomenal. I would see the Gutenberg Museum NO OTHER way than with a tour guide. You really better appreciate the historical significance. And KID FRIENDLY, we have a 9, 5, and 2 year old and they catered the tour to our family, including a live demo of the printing press and letting the kids participate and get a souvenir parchment! Such an amazing family experience.

Our Guide Judith was a wonderful guide and was clearly an expert in the history of the region and also of the of the Gutenberg Museum. We were a group of 4 and the personalized approach and story telling was a delight. Judith was one of the best tour guides I have experienced.

I've had the pleasure of taking American college students to the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz a number of times over the past 15 years. I see something new every time I return. Being exposed to some of the rarest items in the known world - including Gutenberg Bibles - is worth the price of admission. But there's so much more, including printing presses dating back years, priceless scrolls from Asia, and artifacts from other parts of the globe. The demonstration on a replica of Gutenberg's 15th Century press is terrific, and members of our tour group get to participate. I even got a crack at pulling the handle to create a one of a kind printed page. A highlight of these educational visits is the hands on workshop next door. We donned our aprons, dipped our rollers in ink, and made multicolored keepsakes in the working print shop. Our bilingual tour guide Judith is deeply steeped in history and practical knowledge about printing methods. The Gutenberg Museum should be a destination for any traveler.

We have been booking this tour for our foreign guests for several years, annually, at the occasion of an international scientific conference in Mainz. They don't stop raving about it! I think it's one of the best things you can do as a foreigner if you come to visit Mainz.
