  • Great tour with a variety of sites.

I recently took the Ultimate Ireland 10 day tour and it was a great experience. Our tour guide Mark was so friendly, knowledgeable, and a great driver that I felt at ease the entire trip. It was a busy trip (to be able to see so many sites all around the island of Ireland) but it wasn't stressful. I especially enjoyed the coastal views and the waterfalls that we stopped at. I would recommend this tour if you'd like to see a sampling of the highlights of Ireland.

This was probably our most memorable family vacation to date. Cathal was an amazing guide! He was so accommodating with our family. He was extremely knowledgeable of all of the areas we visited and engaged with everyone in our group from our daughter who is eight to my father-in-law who is in his 70s. We couldn’t have asked for a more personalized trip. I would highly recommend this tour to any family who is wanting to experience the beauty and the culture of Ireland. We are so grateful!

I cannot express how wonderful our 10-day Ultimate trip was in every way. It was somewhat hectic (switched hotels every night except one), but that allowed us to circumnavigate the entire island in our 10 days and see the best of what Ireland has to offer - which is everything imaginable. The Irish people stole our hearts, the Irish countryside blew our minds, the history fascinated us, and Irish pride seeped through every minute of our trip. Hotels were good to exceptional, sites visited were superb, weather was completely Irish in the spring (45mph winds and 43 degrees at the cliffs, sometimes rainy, mostly sunny the last week). The breakfasts each morning were over the top, suggestions for pubs and local eateries in the evenings were spot on. We had 10 folks to start and picked up three more halfway through (they had done the first half the prior year). I will NEVER go back to large group touring again. The small size allowed us to navigate much better routes (with jaw dropping vistas), and get to know one another on a personal level, which made a huge difference. It was more of an adventure with friends than a tour. Our guide Conan was smart, funny, incredibly knowledgeable of Irish history and current state of affairs, and most of all super enthusiastic, congenial, courteous, patient, and understanding. He never left any doubt we were in good hands when he was navigating, storytelling, adjusting air for us, or when I got seasick at the Cliffs of Moher.

  • An Unforgettable Irish Adventure—Leprechauns Not Guaranteed, But Everything Else Is!

We had a terrific experience with our guide, Cathal. He was friendly, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable about everything Ireland and Northern Ireland. Our group included a mix of 5-day, 7-day, and 10-day travelers, which gradually whittled down to just five of us toward the end—making the experience even more personal. Cathal made us feel at home everywhere we went. The itinerary was outstanding. Highlights included hiking Croagh Patrick—challenging but absolutely spectacular—as well as visiting the breathtaking Giant’s Causeway and walking the “Stairway to Heaven” (Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail), both unforgettable experiences that showcased the natural beauty of Northern Ireland. The accommodations were excellent, and the daily breakfasts at each stop were superb. We especially appreciated staying two nights in a couple of locations, which allowed us to explore more deeply without the daily packing and unpacking. Cathal was also flexible and thoughtful—when some of the group opted to hike Croagh Patrick, he made sure the rest of us had equally rewarding options. That level of attention really stood out. If you want a genuine, immersive taste of Ireland and Northern Ireland, I highly recommend Overland Irish Tours. The small group size (no more than 15) keeps things comfortable and social, and we came away with not just great memories, but real friendships that have continued well beyond the trip.

Extraordinary trip, looking back, we did so much but it never felt rushed and always enjoyable. A really good balance between towns and wild places. It was also to have most evenings free to explore individually. Conan was a great guide, providing historical & social context & gave great recommendations for pubs with traditional music

An excellent, well planned and exciting adventure. Our guide Cathal was a wonderful, knowledgeable friend who was truly obliging. The accommodation was outstanding, especially at Lough Eske Castle. I loved kayaking at Dingle, climbing at Cobh Patrick, and cycling on the smallest Aran island. There was poetry, music and stories, and the trips to L/Derry and Belfast were excellent. Highly recommended!

My husband and I just finished the 11 Day Full Active Tour of Ireland for our honeymoon, and it was PHENOMENAL!!! We had been dreaming of this trip since we started dating as we knew Ireland was where we wanted to go for our honeymoon. We had the best time!! Our tour was a bit unique as it was combined with a couple of other tours of varying days (5 days, 7 days, 11 days), so we started with 15 people and ended the tour with 5. It was honestly perfect. The small group of 15 was fun, and the 5 was even better because we were able to hang out and bond even more with such a small group. The activities were amazing!! Kayaking in Dingle Bay was my favorite by far. The biking was fun, and then climbing Croagh Patrick tested me in ways I'd never been tested, haha. We made so many wonderful memories that we will carry with us through the rest of our lives, as well as friendships that will cross oceans. Our tour guide, Cathal, was an absolute gem! So sweet right off the bat, accommodating, downright hilarious, and always made sure to keep us in the loop. He pointed out interesting facts, took us off the trail to see some other things when we had time, and was always there if we needed anything. 10/10 tour guide!!! I'd recommend him over and over again. Lovely tour, lovely people, and absolutely lovely country!! 11 days were perfect, and I feel like we lived so many lifetimes in those days (in a good way!). Well worth the money. One note of improvement I would mention is that I think it would be great if, at the beginning of the tour, the tourists get a loose itinerary of the trip. I wasn't sure if we were going to get one, so I made one for my husband and myself. I'm glad I did as it helped us know what was coming up in the upcoming days. Cathal sent us texts to let us know what was going on the next day, which was super helpful. I just think it would've been nice to also receive something at the beginning of the trip so we didn't have to keep bothering Cathal about times and activities, haha.

  • A wonderful way to experience Ireland in its all its glory!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 10-day trip around Ireland. We had a great group and Pat O’Mara was both an excellent guide and driver. Ireland is stunningly beautiful and it was a delight to see and hear from Pat how much he enjoys sharing his home with others. We visited some great landmarks, superb scenery and we really enjoyed the food and the Guinness! We were fortunate to have good weather most of the trip and I would definitely recommend this tour as you really get to see Ireland in all its glory from bustling cities, wild coastal landscapes, to its natural beauty to the many small villages where they welcome you with a smile and a greeting. Pat was patient, funny, obliging and so helpful which added to the pleasure of the tour. On a final note, if he says there’s going to be a pop quiz on the last day, he’s not kidding – which turned out to be a very funny end to our tour. Thank you Pat and Overland Ireland.

My Ireland experience began and ended in Dublin, and it was unforgettable. Our guide, David Armitage, was absolutely amazing—he shared fascinating history and helpful information every day, all while maintaining a positive, upbeat attitude. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide! When a major storm forced changes to our itinerary, David quickly adapted and offered great alternative options, which we truly appreciated. Overall, it was a fantastic tour of an incredible country.

Ireland is beautiful but the extra was our tour guide Pat O’Mara. He provided so much history & background before each stop to experience that place even more! Pat was personable, funny, helped with our luggage and reserved group dinner reservations for those interested - me, all the time. We saw more than the just the tourist spots - went on local hikes with him. We also greatly enjoyed the 1-2 hour tours with local area experts - all part of the Overland experience. And the size - just 14 of us from all over the world (fun people) was the best! Glad not to be part of the big bus tours who cannot navigate some the narrow roads we went on. The variety of experiences, on the go, was awesome. Travel with Overland - you will love it!
