Enjoy a whale watching tour from the small fishing village of the west side of Eyjafjordur. Depart at your chosen time from the meeting point in this picturesque town and you will be taken into the midst of the whale populations and rich sea life characteristics of the area. Whether the whales have ventured deep into the fjord or are staying closer to Hrisey, they are always just a short trip away from Hauganes. Most common species include humpback whales, minke whales, harbour porpoises, white beaked dolphins and with a little luck blue whales and orcas (killer whales). Your captain, a professional fisherman during the winter, will keep you in good hands during the summer whale watching season.

We contract this activity with the expectation that they themselves announce: “100% whale watching.” However, we did not see any whales during the excursion. In forwarding our complaint, the response was that this “100%” is only part of the company name, which is quite misleading from the customer’s point of view. We believe that this type of message generates expectations that are not fulfilled. The only solution they offered was to come back another day, something that is not viable for many people who are traveling and we cannot reorganize our time or bear more expenses.

Great experience watching for whales from the boat. We got lucky and saw 2 whales that morning. The company offered us all in one jackets as it was freezing as well as hot chocolate towards the end of the trip. Definitely recommended

3 generations wale watching grandma son and daughter Lovely on the fjord. much quieter than at sea so we did not suffer from seasickness Beautiful fins seen and a whale next to the boat. The 400mm on the photo camera was sometimes even too close

Don’t come, we came in February we saw a whale a long way away and were made to wait half an hour to start and then another half an hour when we are dropped off at the Port of Akureyri (30 min from the departure point) waiting for a ciche at minus 10 degrees and finishing at 18 instead of 16 as I said in the news

Even though it was past the best season to see whales we managed to see 5 humpback whales. Loved this trip, staff were great and the cookies and hot chocolate were very welcome as it was cold.

Great experience, we had around at least a dozen whales swimming undisturbed. A hot chocolate that warmed us up and a delicious cinnamon cookie. 100% recommended Of course it is, if the whales had been whales or because everything would have been even more beautiful, but we don’t ask too much of nature 😉

The name of the company is 100% and that creates expectations. But after our spotting tour I can say 100% true! A fantastic experience to experience the humpback whales and 1 Minke whale up close with this beautiful wooden boat (true history!). Staff are friendly and quiet. The coffee on the way with cake delicious. The suits you get are not a luxury in October! We enjoyed it very much.

The guide was very funny and told us lots of interesting facts about whales. The landscape was wonderful and the whales were so close to us.
