We also learned about Kabuki theater in Kyoto and its connection to the entertainment districts. Highly recommended.

5.00Hira was an amazing guide! Right from the start, he made us feel like friends, not just tourists. He took us to beautiful places he truly loves, like Kinkaku-ji (the Golden) and Nijo Castle. 5.00We had a great time on the 2 hours tour in Gion with our guide Suzuki. He was friendly and very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the geisha district, pointing out fascinating details we would never have noticed on our own. We were also lucky to spot few around Hanamikoji street.

5.00Gion is the most beautiful place to visit in Kyoto by 4 pm on and we had a great time exploring it with our guided Keiko. She is literally an expert in Japanese religions history and Geisha schools and performances. She took us to the street of tea houses and showed us the temple at the end of the street. We were lucky to see some Maiko walking around.
