What a unique experience to canoe through the mangroves under the guidance of a guide! Nice center, where we were first explained about the area by the guide, Thijmen. Very interesting to experience for yourself what a special area it is. They are beautiful new canoes and our guide, Tijmen, really took the time to tell a lot. There was a cozy atmosphere and we could also enter the water halfway to snorkel there. Beautiful!! It was definitely worth it, next time we book another trip at Tijmen, he also does the evening tour through the mangroves where you can also see sea spark. Seems very special too 🤗

This 2-hour mangrove kayak and snorkel tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Bonaire. Kayaking through the mangroves was peaceful and beautiful, and it felt like being immersed in a completely different ecosystem. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about the area, explaining the wildlife, mangrove system, and marine life in an engaging way. The snorkeling portion was fantastic — crystal-clear water, plenty of fish, and a unique perspective swimming beneath the mangrove roots. Everything was well-organized, equipment was in great shape, and the pace was perfect even for beginners. If you’re looking for something educational, relaxing, and truly unique to Bonaire, this tour is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

Great Experience. The mangroves were beautiful, and it is a great thing to do from a day off of diving. Trevor was very knowledgeable and there is a beautiful 3d painting that is quite unique. Good exercise and a wonderful snorkel through the mangroves. The small size of our group and the tour is a big bonus for a more personal experience,

I booked the 2hour kayak and snorkel tour together with my siblings. Because we were an uneven number, I got to have my own private kayak, which was great! The group was around 12 people in total, two couples and a few families. Our tour guide Tijmen was really friendly and funny, he made sure everybody felt comfortable. He was able to tell us a lot about the mangrove, which was really interesting. Halfway the trip there's the opportunity to go out of the kayak and do some snorkling (equipment provided by the Mangrove Center). One person in the group decided to stay in the kayak, which was totally fine too. It's a beautiful experience, and amazing to see how they're doing their best to protect the nature on the island. I can highly recommend!

Nice tour with a nice guide. Our guide Thymen told a lot about the mangrove and had nice dry humor. We love it 😂. He was also interested in the people who joined the tour. All in all, a very nice tour!

With Thijmen as a guide into the mangrove. Enjoyed this tour, great experience sailing through those tunnels, sometimes lying completely flat to get under the branches. Thijmen saw the humor of everything in us even though we came right out of the tunnel 😂😂 and I slid down in the 1st 5 minutes on my way to the canoe. Nice laughter and an experience you don't want to miss.

I booked this tour in hopes of seeing some young marine life within the mangroves. It was a beautiful tour through the mangrove channels. Our guide, Tim, spoke excellent English (in addition to his native Dutch) and was able to accommodate anyone in the group. I wish more stress was placed on eco respect and quiet, so as to enjoy the nature. We had a group of women who talked non-stop, so any birds or such were scared away by their noise. The “snorkeling” portion of the tour was weak: brackish water and very turbid from all the people stirring up the sediment made for zero visibility. All-in-all, a peaceful tour. But don’t really expect to see much of the marine life.

Easy drive from town center with a short section of dirt road is easily possible by car, no truck needed. A well presented educational talk for a few minutes to understand the mangroves ecosystem prior to the paddle and an expert guide throughout the trip. No experience is needed. It is not buggy or filled with creepy crawling things like other geography mangrove areas. It is not a swamp, beautiful view and many birds to watch. We saw turtles and fish. They provide everything, snorkel gear as part of the tour, kayaks, paddles, everything needed. The center has restroom and outdoor fresh water shower for after the trip. The 2 hour trip is best, wear bathing suit, sunscreen, hat, and sun shirt, aqua socks or booties or flip flops to make getting into the kayak very easy. Bring drink and snack so can stay in area just down the road, park entrance gate, after the tour to see the many donkeys in the area.

Mangrove Center Bonaire – A Must-Do Experience! Our tour with Thomas was absolutely outstanding. This wasn’t just “something to do” while on the island—it was a truly fun and engaging learning experience. Thomas shared fascinating insights about the mangroves in Bonaire, and I walked away with a much deeper appreciation for their importance to the ecosystem. The two-hour tour was well worth it, striking the perfect balance between education and enjoyment. Thomas made the experience interactive and memorable, and his passion for the mangroves really shone through. Tips for future visitors: • Bring bug spray • Wear water shoes • Carry some water Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bonaire—it’s an unforgettable way to connect with nature and learn something meaningful along the way
