I had the pleasure of joining a beautifully arranged event in Cape Town that combined two hours of authentic Indonesian cuisine with a one-hour walk through the leafy streets of Newlands. The lunch itself was a highlight — a real journey of flavors. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, true to Indonesian tradition, and served with the kind of hospitality that makes you feel at home. From the spices to the presentation, everything reflected the richness of Indonesia’s culinary culture. Afterwards, the guided walk in Newlands was the perfect complement. The pace was relaxed, the scenery green and refreshing, and it gave us a chance to walk off lunch while enjoying stories and sights of the neighborhood. Altogether, it was three hours well spent — a mix of culture, food, and local exploration that left me both full and inspired. I’d recommend it to anyone in Cape Town looking for something genuine, flavorful, and memorable.
