What To Expect
The food culture of Lucca stems from history, hunger, ancient recipes and dreams. Let 2Italia introduce you to the delicious traditional food of Lucca by taking you through narrow alleyways to hidden treasures, off the beaten tourist track, to taste the food the Lucchesi themselves eat. Your Italian guide will introduce you to locals whose families have been preparing the foods you will sample for generations. There will be 8-10 stops along the way to taste authentic Lucchese specialties. Tour highlights include typical handmade fresh pasta from Lucca, wonderful hams and salami, rich tiramisu, delicious ice cream, sheep’s milk cheese from the hills surrounding Lucca, exquisite olive oil tasting and, of course, a selection of local wines. In addition, Paola, a born and bred Lucchese, will enthrall you with stories of food, family feuds, local intrigue and ghosts.

5.00Fantastic tour with a great guide leading us through the 'tastiest' parts of this beautiful city via 8, yes 8, stops for food and drink from genuine outlets / producers. Although I was travelling solo, the rest of this group were such a lovely bunch that our finale 2 course lunch felt just like a group of friends. In short, you get what you pay for - quality food and drink in a beautiful location

5.00Paola, our food tour guide took our group of six on a three hour journey of Lucca. Coffee, gelato, wine and olive oil, cheese, and a small but flavorful three course meal to end the journey. Paola was extremely knowledgeable of the history of the area, and equally informed on the food and its origins. A fun time was had by all .

5.00Excellent overview of food in Lucca. In addition to learning about the food from Lucca, we had an excellent lunch. However, the highlight of the visit was the visit to an incredible wine cellar.
