Nbooked through a local travel agent in the Sashii Hostel in Riohacha. The hostel looked good though we were staying elsewhere. It was 3 days and 2 nights all inclusive staying in 2 separate hostels in hammocks. The food was generally OK and the experience overall was terrific. Due to road closures we had an open boat crossing in very rough seas which was not ideal but has provided some decent travel stories. The Wayuu tribe hostel and people were great. The north coast of Colombia is spectacular in an unspoilt way. Not to be missed but be warned the travel whether by boat or 4x4 is "interesting"

Booked through Sashi Tours in Riohacha, this was probably one of the most authentic tourist experiences I have had. First via various stops to Cabo de la Vela and adjacent view points with an opportunity to climb to some if the high points overlooking the sea. Overnight at Cabo was in a hostel hammocks (a first for me) not too bad but weather meant an early start to catch an open boat over a very rough sea for 150 minutes to the most northerly point. Stayed overnight in a surprisingly well organised Wayuu camp, again in hammocks. Days events included the most northerly point of South America and sand dune sledding. Hammocks again ok, but any discomfort worth it for the epic dark sky starscape. Boat back both quicker and smoother. Whole trip was terrific with the only downside being 2 4:30 am starts and the very rough boat trip. FYI, the boat was only necessary as the rain had closed the land route, I can't call them roads.

Interesting tour with some beautiful landscapes. Viatour didn't pass on my reservation to Guajira Dream and so that was a hassle that took a day to sort out. The rest was a great experience. Food and especially coffee could be improved where we had breakfast on day 2.
