Uribia
The Cabo de la Vela Tour starts from Riohacha at 8:30 am, heading north towards the high Guajira desert. Along the way, we'll pass through Uribia, known as the indigenous capital of Colombia, where you'll be able to appreciate many handicrafts from the Wayú culture.
Salinas de Manaure
Afterwards, we will visit Manaure (the largest salt complex in Colombia) where we will observe the salt extraction process, learning more about this important activity for the region.
Cabo de la Vela Beach
Next, we'll head toward our destination, Cabo de la Vela, arriving in the early afternoon for lunch and our first interaction with the desert-sea ecosystem. We'll visit the spectacular Playa Dorada and walk to the lighthouse, a panoramic viewpoint from which to watch the sunset. Finally, we will arrive at a typical Wayuu hotel (ranchería), where we will have dinner and spend the night in hammocks.

Pilon de Azucar
Early in the morning we will have a delicious breakfast and then visit Pilón de Azúcar beach. We will also climb a small mountain to have a beautiful view of the desert and the sea of Cabo de la Vela.
Cabo de La Vela
Later, we will return to the accommodation for lunch and finally return to Riohacha.

La Guajira is unique. When you come to La Guajira, you realize that it is another Colombia, a Colombia with more than 50 years of difference, but the nature and the customs are unique. The people are very friendly. I recommend it.
