What To Expect

The Ausangate + Rainbow Mountain trek is a new route located in the high Andes and traverses the incredibly colorful Vinicunca or Rainbow Mountains. This beautiful multi-day hike is tucked away in a well-hidden section of the Vilcanota Mountain range. Surrounded by glacial mountains, this route treks in the shadow of the highest mountain in the Cusco Region, Ausangate (6300m/21,000ft).which is the highest mountain in southern Peru , this snowy peak has been considered sacred for hundred of years by the ancient inhabitants of the Andes .This is a true off the beaten path wilderness trek – above the tree line with incredible views of the Andes and glacial peaks. DAY 1 : CUSCO -UPIS COMMUNITY- UPIS CAMPSITE – UPIS LAKE -HOT SPRINGS WALKING DISTACE : 10km HIGHEST ELEVATION : 4480m/14,698ft WALKING TIME : 5 hours CAMPSITE ELEVATION : 4250 m/13,779 ft. DAY 2 : UPIS CAMPSITE – ARAPA PASS -PUKAQOCHA -ANANTA ACOMODATION : Camps WALKING DISTACE : 14km HIGHEST ELEVATION : 4800m/15,748ft WALKING TIME : 8 hours CAMPSITE ELEVATION : 4700 m/15,400 ft. We enjoyed the beautiful nature, the fantastic food and the unique camping experience at over 4'500m above sea level. Our guide Ruben was super friendly and showed us the most beautiful places. Despite very spontaneous booking everything worked perfectly. The whole crew did a great job! Vielen Dank Team Coco ;)

The best experience I had in the mountains, Apu ausangate trek is really a serious undertaking the service I received was more than I imagined, with suitable equipment for the low temperatures and a Local guide of the Ausangate area very knowledgeable of history and nature, excellent food every day until you reach the mountain of colors.

I went on a 3 days trek with Apu Ausangate Trek , they are really professional and experts , the guide took care of us on the way with a lot of informations , the Chef Braulio did a amazing job since the first day to last with really taste food. The horseman Hilario smiling all the time . in general I had amazing experience with them 100% recommend Apu Ausangate Trek company.

All Very wellnn since we got off the plane, they waited for us moved us to the place where we are going to stay and excellent explanation of Miss Maritza and her companion, always attentive and asking how. We walked, the verdas I loved all the places we met and moved us, very good breakfasts as well as lunches. Another time I go back to Cuzco I will go again with the same tourism company I have no doubt, All 10/10 I loved my trip.
