If you haven't tried floating before, it's really something you should do. The feeling of mending with ice-cold water at the same time as staying warm and afloat provides a soothing contrast of elements. It's relaxing, meditative, quiet, and really fun at the same time.

After your floating session, we invite you to join us by the campfire, or simply sit down and relax inside our cozy cabin by the shore.

We're confident enough to say that this will be something you'll remember for the rest of your life. In addition, you'll get your Arctic Ocean Floaters Club Certificate to bring home and brag to your friends.

What To Expect

In Ramfjord, only a 25-minute drive from Tromsø, we welcome you to our Arctic Survival Camp. Here we will let you immerse yourself in the Arctic Ocean, whilst enjoying the warm embrace of our top-of-the-line immersion rescue suits, which will keep you warm as you float into a near-weightless state. If you haven't tried this before it's certainly something you don't want to miss out on. Among a lot of great things to do in Tromsø, this is definitely one of those you'll remember for a lifetime. After you finish your floating session, we'll invite you into our cozy camp for some hot drinks and a snack. We have a nice little patio with the campfire going, which means you can sit outside and have your treats. Do you need a solid break from the noise of your everyday life? What a wonderful experience the Winter arctic floating was! One of the best activities we did in Tromso and one of the most unique experiences we have had! The team we had (Mathieu & Frederico) were very friendly and professional. They went through the plan for the session and got us all ready in the thermal suits etc. They were especially accommodating and supportive to those in the group who were afraid of the water or a little bit less physically capable, such a my mother who was recovering from a recent (7 weeks) knee and arm fracture. She was very nervous and didn’t think she was capable of doing the activity but Mathieu really gave her the confidence and helped her at every stage! The photos of the tour they took for us were great too! And the views were SPECTACULAR-truly felt like we were in Narnia. Overall a fantastic experience and well worth doing!

I had a wonderful experience, with a lot of nice pictures captured by our guides. The tour also offered us delicious snacks and hot drinks. This activity is a must-try in Tromso.

Nice small group adventure. We had 12 people total in 2 vans. Easy to find the meeting spot and scenic - not too long - ride to the event. Mathieu and Thibault (and their new helper!) were friendly and helpful. The gear is fairly easy to fairly easy to get on and Thibault made it fun. The float was amazing. Easy to just sit back in the water and float! Hard to believe we were in the water 30 minutes. Great warming hut used for changing and sharing hot drinks and snacks after. Love that Norwegian brown cheese (Brunost). Also, Mathieu grilled some tasty cinnamon rolls for us on an open fire. It was a great experience!

It was a good idea to book tours with Authentic North; I took 3 with them. First, the walking food tour; it was an experience meeting and tasting part of the Norwegian specialties. Then, the Floating Arctic Tour was spectacular; I spent the whole time laughing and enjoying this experience of floating on a frozen fjord, with special costumes; I came away dry from this experience. And finally, take the Reindeer Experience and Sami Culture Tour; it was nice to meet the reindeer and know more about them and, of course, to know part of the Sami culture. 100% recommended.

Set in the breath taking Ramfjord, this is such a unique and relaxing way to experience Norway’s magnificent landscape and wildlife. Mathieu was attentive and friendly, I highly recommend going floating with him!

Mathieu and Juan were excellent tour guides, personable, friendly, and fun! We had a wonderful time floating in the Arctic, followed by hot chocolate and homemade cinnamon rolls. Mathieu took lots of great photos with the GoPro in the water and with our cameras afterward. We even received a fun certificate at the end! It made my milestone birthday extra special. Highly reccommend. Thank you!

Matthew and Lucine were amazing guides during our excursion to float the Artic! After a short drive to the location, we were suited up in our thermal suits and heading outside to float the Artic. Lucine was in the water with us the whole time and took pictures of us that we were able to download after our excursion. After the float, we were offered warm drinks and cinnamon buns that Matthew had cooked for us on the outdoor fire. The changing hut was super cute and warm. We highly recommend this excursion and it's a chance of a lifetime to be able to float the Arctic.

Had a great time with Mathieu and Oliver! Fun to wear the survival suits and float with a fjord view . The cabin was cozy and we had hot drinks, fire roasted cinnamon buns and bread and cheese ! Fun experience!
