Our tour begins with you meeting our professional driver-guides in Arusha, who will present a short safari-briefing and provide you with a picnic lunch before you transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. After lunch at the lodge, we’ll make our way into the park, which is one of Tanzania’s most impressive wildlife areas. It consists of a massive (but shallow) soda lake that covers two-thirds of the park at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants. Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake, also call this place home.

You will be picked up from your accommodations in the morning to start your game drive. Tarangire National Park covers an area of 1360 sq km (525 sq miles) and features scattered baobab trees, open acacia woodland, open bush plains, swamps, and rivers. Wildlife such as elephants, zebra, giraffe, dik dik, and ostrich can be seen. Your lunch will be a picnic. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the Country Lodge Karatu. Upgraded accommodations can be arranged for an extra cost. If an accommodation is fully booked, we'll suggest a comparable alternative.

After an early breakfast you’ll drive down to the Ngorongoro Crater, where you will spend a full day in this World Heritage Site that is home to nearly 25,000 animals. You have a very real chance of spotting the big five: lion, elephant, the endangered black rhino, and buffalo—plus countless other African mammal species. You will witness a magnificent array of habitats, each with its own unique flora and fauna. Later in the day you’ll take a moment to stretch out your legs and enjoy a picnic lunch at Ngoitokitok Springs, all while watching the hippos jostle for position in the water. After lunch you will finish your game drive and then leave the crater floor. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the Hhando Coffee Lodge.

5.00We’ve been on safaris in about 6 other countries. We chose African Savannah Trekkers because we wanted to travel with a Tanzanian owned and run tour company with Tanzanian staff. We wanted a private trip with our group of 3 and that our itinerary was fully customizable including the parks we visited, where we stayed, and all the daily activities. Communication with the office staff was thorough, prompt, and friendly, which made the process of planning our trip enjoyable and sending payment online less nerve-racking. Our guide was a safe, ethical driver, friendly, knew a lot about the parks and animals when asked, and was great at showing us different areas of the parks and finding awesome wildlife encounters. Overall, I’m very pleased with our trip and only wish we could stay longer! Tanzania is an incredible country and having spent a lot of time in southern Africa I was so impressed with the country’s dedication managing the parks ethically from a conservation and tourism perspective and employing & empowering their own people to care for everything. I can only dream about coming back someday. Thank you African Savannah Trekkers.

He is an expert because we run away with him after 2 times of elephants attacks 😂😂😂 i add the super woman who run to give us everything with an extra super service “philomena” Oh and i cant forget my birthday surprise! 😍😍 Guys we are planning this summer again with you and bringing the kids Thank you Hakuna matata !!!

5.00Exceeding expectations! African Svannah Trekkers provided excellent support and help from start to finish. This was a very special trip for us and it needed to be just right the African Savannah Trekkers team was extremely responsive and helped us get what we wanted. When we arrived at the airport we were immediately greeted by our guide who took us to our first hotel. The next day we started our 8 day safari with our guide who was absolutely superb; highly knowledgeable, interesting and above all caring and considerate an understanding of all our needs. All the accommodation was very good with several of the lodges being superb with views of elephants, buffalo and other wild animals from the balconies. It was sad to leave but I know we will be back soon. We would very highly recommend this operator as a great company for a life time safari experience.
