Your day trip begins with a hotel pick at either Moshi or Arusha then jump in for a relaxing drive to Marangu gate for registration with the authorities before you begin your long-awaited hike. This route approaches the mountain from the southeast part. Our main task for the day is to make sure we reach Mandara Hut, the first point of a full hike. We will only trek through the lower attitudes, taking our picnic lunch on route to Mandara Hut. Once we are at Mandara Hut, we will rest for approximately 30 to 45 minutes before we begin our slow descent back to the Main Gate. Our driver will be waiting for you to drive you back to your hotel with relaxing music and cold or warm Kilimanjaro beer to take away the tiredness. Not only should you climb it but drink it too.

This trip has been absolutely amazing truly the best four days of our safari. We were so lucky to have the best guide, Godfrey (Marifa), and the best chef, Richard. Without them, this safari would not have been such an unforgettable experience. Godfrey, our incredible guide, went above and beyond to make sure we saw as many animals as possible, including the special Big Five. He was always eager to share his knowledge, explaining everything in such an engaging way it’s clear why they call him “Marifa.” His passion, expertise, and dedication made every moment even more special, and I’m so grateful he was our guide. Chef Richard was simply the best. He made sure we were never hungry, always checking in to see if we enjoyed the food, and consistently preparing delicious meals that exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much! Luula// from Sweden

We booked the 5 day/4 night Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Lodge Safari. It was a wonderful experience and we got to see a great variety of wildlife. Since we had spent a week in Kruger NP earlier in our Africa trip, we had wondered whether it would be worth also doing a tour in the Serengeti. The answer was definitely 'yes' and we are very glad that we decided to do this safari with Serengeti African Tours. Serengeti is a very special place, and is quite differnet (a lot 'wilder') than Kruger. In the planning stage, Antonia was great to work with via WhatsApp - very responsive in answering our many questions. Our guide was David, who was wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable about the animals and the places we visited, and we were most impressed with David's ability to deal with very challenging roads, muddy bogs, minor mechanical issues etc. We always felt safe in David's hands and he was very informative. We had many great animal sightings, including all the remaining 'Big 5' that we had not seen yet in Kruger. Our accommodation on the tour was very nice, especially the Suricata Boma Lodge that we had on the first and final night near Lake Manyara. The food, drink and service at our accommodations was great. For some of the trip we travelled with our own chef, who made the nice lunches that we had along the way at picnic stops, and the dinners for some of the group who were staying at campgrounds. I think we had selected an option for a higher level of accommodation when booking the tour - other members of our group were in different accommodations. This meant that there were sometimes minor delays in the mornings, as we'd have to go to multiple sites to pick up all the members of our group. We were impressed with the efficiency of Serengeti African Tours. We'd left one of our suitcases at the hotel in Arusha, and had to retrieve that bag from the company at the end of the tour before being dropped at Kilimanjaro Airport for our flight. We had been a bit concerned about the logistics and whether this would all work smoothly. No need to worry - it all went seamlessly. Another driver was ready to take us to the airport - suitcase already onboard - as we arrived back in Arusha on the final day. All in all, we were extremely happy with our tour and would be happy to recommend it to others!

We had an amazing time hiking up to the first camp at Mandara Hut. fantastic guides(Gasto) that were knowledgeable about the trail and kept us motivated to get to the top of our journey as the air thinned. It was challenging but manageable. bring water but try to pack as little as possible so you have less to lug up the trail We recommend to any one who want to taste the Kilimanjaro mountain
