What To Expect

Day 1

Cusco - Perolniyoq - Water fall - Kuychiqasa Pass

Accommodations

Exquisite camping equipment is available at our campsite.

1

Cusco Region

Our guide will pick you up from the hotel at five thirty to begin our trip. We drive one hour and forty-five minutes to Soqma (3,205 m/10,512 feet.). The trail's headtrack leads us to meet the horses and crew.

2 hours • Admission Not Applicable
2

Socma Perolniyoc

The hike takes one and a half hours, starting at the Perolniyoc cascade and viewpoint. The waterfall is amazing; you could even make a quick trek down to the base to grab some amazing photos (and cool off if the weather is hot!). At the Rayan Pre-Inca site, we continue for 45 minutes. Nestled on a clifftop, the Pre-Inca site provides an amazing perspective of the valley below. We keep pushing the climb for almost an hour until we reach Rayan (3,700 m/12,139 feet). This offers a chance for leisure, rest, and refreshment for afternoon trekking. The afternoon begins with a difficult 3-hour uphill climb toward the Kuychowiczasa pass (4,450 m/14,599 ft). Every turn will provide you with amazing vistas of snow-capped mountains passing by rural estates. At the pass's summit, we recover our breath and take in the Incas' Sacred Valley and Chankachuco Valley.

7 hours • Admission Included
3

Perolniyoq Waterfall

From this vantage point, the 25-minute downhill trek makes it easy to reach our tent on level terrain of 4,400 m or 14,435 ft. Twelve kilometers (7.4 miles) is the trek distance. It is tough; the usual time is seven to eight hours. Views: The Pre-Inca Mountains range, including the Perolniyoq waterfall. We slept in Chankachuko or Kuychicasa, depending on the distance we traveled.

1 hour • Admission Included
Day 2

Intipunku - Yanakaka - Cahiqata Quarry.

Accommodations

With the best gear, enjoy a luxurious camping experience.

1

Inti Punku Sun Gate

Early in the morning, we climb 1.5 hours in an alternating rising and declining pattern. From here, we descend for two ½ hours to a location in the Incas known as Inti Punku in the Sacred Valley (meaning Sun Gate), where we have a breathtaking view of Mount Veronica (5,682 m/18,637 ft) and the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It would be best to observe the Inca pyramid's construction from here. Following a few minutes of break, we will trek one hour downhill from Inti Punku to Choquetacarpo (3,600 m/11,808 ft.), where we will find a stone quarry for Ollantaytambo and other Inca constructions.

3 hours • Admission Included
2

Lunch is thirty minutes downhill from Inti Punku. We will have time to look at and talk about how traces of stone work disturbed by the Spanish invasion still reveal themselves. We descend from the quarry for two hours until we arrive at our camp close to Ollantaytmbo, 2,940 m (9,715 feet). In Ollantaytambo, we will eat. Trek Distance: Moderate: 10.56 mi (17 km). The estimate is eight hours.

3 hours • Admission Not Applicable
3

Inca Quarries

There is time for us to stroll around the breathtaking Inca Quarry in the Sacred Valley.

1 hour • Admission Included
Day 3

Inca Trail to Machupicchu - Sunset at Machupicchu.

Accommodations

Standard hotel accommodations feature a hot shower, wifi, and a private bathroom.

1

Ollantaytambo

After breakfast, we will slowly stroll to the Ollantaytambo train station. On route to KM 104, the train passes through the stunning Sacred Valley countryside. The train winds across the magnificent Andes, following the old road of the Incas.

2 hours • Admission Not Applicable
2

The first Inca sites you will find are those of Chachabamba, a small archeological complex supposedly to have been Machu Picchu's guard post.

3 hours • Admission Included
3

Winay Wayna

The path then softly rises for over three hours until you reach 8,690 feet (2,650 meters). Wiñay Wayna, in the indigenous Quechua language, means "eternal youth or forever young." On the Inca Trail, Wiay Wayna is considered the most beautiful and well-preserved Incan site. It is also the last metropolitan center before arriving at the Machu Picchu stronghold.

2 hours • Admission Included
4

Intipuncu

Following a lunch and a tour of Wiñaywayna, stop at the "Sun Gate," which provides an amazing perspective of Machu Picachu. From Inti Punku, you will descend a hillside for about 45 minutes toward the citadel's main structures, savoring breathtaking panoramic views down the paved Inca Road.

2 hours • Admission Included
5

Machupicchu

We enjoy the sunet at Machupicchu. At last, board a bus into Aguas Calientes, where you will have dinner and spend the evening in a quaint Machu Picchu hotel. Trek eight miles (13 kilometers) to Machu Picchu. Minimum Altitude: 2,030 meters, or 6,656 feet Peak altitude: 2,650 meters, or 8,690 fee

Day 4

Machupicchu - wonder of the world

1

Aguas Calientes

After an early breakfast, head to the bus station for a 25-minute journey to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, where you will start an amazing guided tour of the citadel.

30 minutes • Admission Not Applicable
2

Machupicchu cusco

If you choose to see the sun rising over the Inca ruins, you will arrive at the citadel in time at five a.m. The Incas, whose incredible artistry is still evident centuries later, are architects and engineers. The wild, luxuriant slopes and rugged mountains differ greatly from the accuracy of the chiseled walls. Machu Picchu is defined in three zones: agricultural, urban, and outskirt.

1 hour • Admission Included
3

Temple of the Sun

Among the several temples in the urban area are the Sun's temple, the Royal Tomb, ceremonial fountains, the Royal Palace, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Main Temple, the Intiwatana, and more. Both the funeral rock and cemetery belong in the agricultural field. If you purchase an additional ticket, you will have more time.

2 hours • Admission Included
4

Alternative sites outside of town include the Intipunku, the Temple of the Moon, Huayna Picchu, or the Drawbridge. More courageous ones will scale the nearby mountain, Huayna Picchu, in 45 minutes. Remember, the park officials only allow 400 daily visits to Huayna Picchu; hence, you must get tickets well in advance. Tickets allow one to climb between 7 and 10 a.m. if they intend to do so.

1 hour • Admission Not Applicable
5

Aguas Calientes

After your Machu Picchu day, you will bus back to Aguas Calientes and then rail back to Cusco, where our agent will meet you for a hotel transfer.

3 hours • Admission Not Applicable
6

Huayna Picchu

Adapt: Climb Huayna Picchu, a hilltop with the Machu Picchu ruin visible below. Although this climb is difficult and requires roughly two hours' round trip, it presents spectacular views. The cost is USD 79; kindly let us know whether you would like to include this in your calendar.

The whole experience was amazing the food from our chefs (mr Toribio and Celio) was delicious authentic Peruvian dishes and there was always plenty to eat to keep us energized throughout the hike. our tour guides Rubin and Paul were amazing too, they were very patient with us when we needed to go slower and led the way when we were going fast, they both also always had something interesting to tell us. the trek itself was incredible beautiful and all our stops were very well coordinated. We booked through Freddy at inca soul and he went above and beyond every step of the way, even after the tour and we had been dropped off we had some issues with our hostel he circled back around to help us figure it out and brought us to our new hostel

These guys are really put together! We did the 4 day Inka trail hike to Machu Picchu. Everything; our guide-Valerio, the porters, the cook, and Fredy-the owner was exceptional! We had hang ups here or there, but Fredy and Valerio took care of us and made a dream come true for my wife. Fredy was in constant communication with us from the initial booking to the days after the tour in Machu Picchu. He knew our schedule by heart and was in constant communication with Valerio through the hike. On the hike we had to do nothing more than carry our personal effects and hike. When we made it to the campsite for lunch or the end of the day, the porters were already there and had everything set up and were already cooking. The meals on the hike were some of the best we had on the entire trip, on and off the trail. Valerio was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the fauna, geography, geology, and the history on the trail. There were many parts of the hike that were challenging and he made us very comfortable with his patience. We even felt as though we made a friend of Valerio! I can't recommend this company enough! We love adventures and don't care for the large companies. Inca Soul is a small company with the personal touch. The y made a challenging adventure one with many memories that will last us a lifetime! Thank you Fredy and Valerio, and all the porters for making this happen for us!

Inca Soul Tours was recommended from a close friend who experienced the Inca trail hike with their team 7 years ago. From the moment of contact with Fredy and Inca Soul Tours, they went above and beyond in fulfilling every question, expectation, and preparedness that I was planning on. The pre/post hike/camp excursions/transfers/availability was perfect and amazing. It’s truly difficult to think of any way I’d want to experience Cusco, Sacred Valley, Inca Trail, and Machu Picchu in any other way. Simply exceptional all around!!

  • Inca Quarry and Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Our experience with Inca Soul was truly one of the best travel adventures we’ve ever had. We completed the Inca Quarry hike, the classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and the Rainbow Mountain trek — and every moment was exceptional. From start to finish, Inca Soul delivered top-tier service. The chef amazed us with fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented meals every single day (we still can’t believe the quality of food we had at that altitude!). The horsemen (cowboys) worked tirelessly, always cheerful and professional, ensuring our bags and camp were perfectly set up ahead of our arrival. The equipment — tents, mats, and gear — was top quality, clean, and comfortable, which made a huge difference after long days of hiking. Our guide, Elistan, made the trip absolutely unforgettable. He is an encyclopedia of knowledge about Peru, the Inca Empire, and local traditions. His passion for history, his storytelling, and his genuine care for the group turned the trek into something truly special. We learned so much from him, laughed constantly, and felt deeply connected to the culture and landscape around us. This was an experience of a lifetime, and it wouldn’t have been the same without Elistan and the amazing Inca Soul team. We’ll definitely be returning to Peru, and when we do, there’s no question — we’ll only travel with Inca Soul.

Let me start by saying I am not a camper but this trip redefined the camping experience, felt like I was at a 5 star restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was outstanding, service top notch. The guides are second to none, native to the area, and make you feel like family. This is my most memorable trip to date. Thank you Freddy and Inca soul

Myself and my partner had an amazing 4 days of hiking the Lares and Inca trails. We cannot recommend Fredy and his team at Inca Soul tours highly enough. Fredy was fantastic from the beginning, making the effort to call me and explain our tour options to make sure that we chose one that suited us best. The food was delicious and the sleeping equipment was very comfortable. The hikes were phenomenal and we enjoyed every minute. We highly recommend Inca Soul for a hiking experience in Peru!

Machu Piccu was incredible in so many ways, the history, the views, and the mystery. Inca Soul tours did a great job with the logistics of the trip and our guide, Paul, was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable and really helped us appreciate the scope of this amazing place. Paul was also flexible with the rest of the trip as we dealt with altitude issues.
