The experience concludes with a smooth return to the hotel, leaving guests enveloped in the glow of Baku’s nocturnal elegance - a perfect overture to the days ahead. Total duration, including airport transfer, guided on-site commentary and driving intervals is approximately 3 hours.
Baku Old City
The day begins with a refined breakfast setting the tone for exploration through the cultural and architectural authenticity of Baku. Travelers step into Icherisheher, the Old City, where every stone carries centuries of human craft and continuity. The Palace of the Shirvanshahs, Maiden Tower and Juma Mosque rise as silent witnesses to dynasties and devotion, while hidden gems like the House of Baku Khans, Multani Caravansarai and Miniature Books Museum trace the city’s global intersections of art, trade and intellect. The air carries echoes of merchants, scholars and architects whose legacy still shapes this preserved labyrinth.
Baku Boulevard
Walking around Baku Boulevard, Little Venice and see the Carpet Museum
Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center
Transitioning from heritage to modern form, the journey unfolds at the Heydar Aliyev Center, an architectural statement where fluid geometry and innovation define Azerbaijan’s forward vision. The structure itself becomes an artistic dialogue between culture and technology, a symbol of continuity reimagined through design.
Baku Boulevard
The afternoon expands along the Baku Boulevard, a waterfront promenade where the Carpet Museum’s sculptural facade and Little Venice’s serene waterways reflect the city’s evolving aesthetic. Each stop blends perspective from traditional craftsmanship to contemporary lifestyle.
Nizami Street
The experience culminates in the heart of Baku’s vibrant rhythm at Nizami Street and Fountain Square, where elegance meets energy amid designer boutiques, cafes and cosmopolitan life. Guests return to the hotel after a day of sensory and intellectual immersion that defines Baku as both timeless and progressive. The total experience, including professional guidance, inter-site travel, and detailed on-site commentary, spans approximately 7 to 8 hours.
Gobustan Rock Art
After breakfast, the journey unfolds toward the elemental heart of Azerbaijan where land, time and flame converge. The day begins at the Gobustan Museum, a modern gateway into humanity’s early imagination. Interactive displays and expert interpretation reveal the first expressions of art and communication, setting the stage for what lies beyond the glass called the Gobustan Petroglyphs. Carved into weathered stone, these prehistoric engravings chronicle millennia of belief, ritual and survival, offering travelers a direct connection to the origins of civilization.
Mud Volcanoes
From this ancient plateau, the route advances toward the surreal landscape of the Mud Volcanoes, where the earth exhales its raw energy through shifting craters and silver-toned pools. Few places on the planet display such geologic drama with this proximity and scale.
Bibi-Heybat Mosque
The journey continues to Bibiheybat Mosque, an emblem of faith and restoration standing beside one of the world’s earliest oil wells, a juxtaposition of spiritual endurance and industrial progress.
Ateshgah - Fire Temple
The next chapter reveals the mysticism of fire at the Ateshgah-Fire Temple, where natural gas flames once guided travelers, merchants and philosophers along the ancient Silk Road.
Yanar Dag
As daylight fades, the experience culminates at Yanardag, the Burning Mountain, where flames rise continuously from beneath the earth, a phenomenon that embodies the nation’s ancient reverence for eternal fire. The glow of Yanardag against the evening sky leaves a final, indelible impression, a meeting point between myth and science. The total experience, encompassing guided insight, inter-site travel, and on-location exploration, extends over approximately 7 to 8 hours.
Juma Mosque
After breakfast, the journey advances toward Azerbaijan’s northern highlands, where every landscape reveals a balance between untamed beauty and quiet sophistication. The day unfolds in two possible directions, each a distinctive expression of nature, altitude and elegance. First option is Gabala. The day begins at the Juma Mosque in Shamakhi region, the first mosque in Azerbaijan, a landmark of spiritual endurance and architectural clarity. Its ancient bricks preserve centuries of devotion and cultural continuity, offering travelers a profound introduction to the country’s earliest expressions of belief.
The route proceeds along the scenic highway toward Gabala, a destination where the rhythm of mountains and rivers shapes the horizon. Rolling hills merge into forested slopes as the road ascends into cooler air, carrying travelers into the heart of the Greater Caucasus. At Nohur Lake, the surface mirrors the stillness of the surrounding pines, a place where reflection feels almost literal. Gentle breezes ripple across the water, creating an atmosphere of calm luxury and natural order.
Tufandag Mountain Resort
The journey continues with the Tufandag Mountain Cable Car, an ascent through cloud and silence. Each station reveals a shifting panorama - first the green valley floor, then the snow-kissed ridges beyond. The experience combines comfort with exhilaration, providing one of the most commanding viewpoints in the Caucasus region.
Yeddi Gozel Waterfall
The afternoon deepens with a visit to the Seven Beauty Waterfall where the cascading waters descend through layered cliffs surrounded by moss and oak. The setting offers a moment of immersion in the rhythm of pure nature, its sound echoing through the mountain air. The return to Baku completes a full circuit of altitude and atmosphere, a day defined by contrast, movement and the quiet precision of nature’s architecture. The total experience, encompassing guided interpretation, scenic travel, and mountain activities, extends for approximately 11 to 12 hours, including return to the city.
Shahdag Mountain Resort
Since Gabala and Shahdag are the main natural places of Azerbaijan, and especially those who want to travel to the peaks of the mountain with wildlife, greenery, snow season, skiing, cable car, choose both or one of these areas. Considering all this, we offer two options within this tour package. For the specified day, guests can choose either the Shahdag tour or the Gabala tour. After the total tour package is selected and confirmed, one of the two options will be arranged according to the wishes of the guests during contact with our tour operator. This will not affect the price of the tour in any case. Here the guests can take cable car, Zip Line, Coaster, Paragliding, paintball, shooting, ice Rink, snow grooming machine trip etc. activities Taking into account that the round trip by car to Shahdag is 6 to 7 hours in total and the road conditions, the total duration of the tour can vary between 8-11 hours.
The final morning begins with check-out procedures handled in quiet efficiency, allowing travelers to enjoy a composed transition from the hotel to their onward destination. The drive from the heart of Baku to Heydar Aliyev International Airport unfolds through the city’s modern avenues, where the skyline and the Caspian horizon bid a last impression of balance between innovation and heritage. Throughout the short journey, the atmosphere carries the refined calm that follows discovery, the reflection of days spent among architecture, mountains and the elemental landscapes of Azerbaijan. Each moment of the transfer reinforces the precision and hospitality that defined the experience from arrival to departure. The total transfer from central Baku to the airport spans approximately 30 minutes, marking the conclusion of an exceptional journey through one of the region’s most compelling destinations.

We had an amazing experience with VLA Tours during our Azerbaijan trip. Everything was taken care of, from airport pickup and hotel drop-offs to tours within the Baku city and outstation sightseeing locations like Shadag, Shamakhi. Gobustan & Yanardag. They made our travel very comfortable, treated us like family, and were always available for any support we needed. They helped with the local language, various entries and locations, and gave great recommendations for local food and shopping. Guide was also available whenever we needed it. Special mention to our driver and friend, Anar—he was a real friend who always took care of us and ensured a very smooth trip. We highly recommend VLA Tours to anyone visiting Azerbaijan.
