Oxigeno Amazonas organized a customized private tour of 7 days and nights for our family of 4. It exceeded our expectations and was impeccably organized. Karla and Darwis, who run Oxigeno Amazonas, are warm, generous, responsive and professional. We had one main guide, Brendan, and local guides for some of the activities. Brendan was extremely knowledgeable and went out of his way to try to accommodate our wildlife interests (we are biologists and were keen to see certain species), and the other local guides were all excellent. Our interpreter, Oscar, was friendly, chill, very interesting and always helpful. What set this tour apart for us was staying in several different communities (including home stay, and cabin in Amacayacu NP) rather than a hotel in Puerto Narino or Leticia. It enabled us to have some more genuine interactions and connections, as well as experience the usual Amazon activities (all super interesting and fun). And we got to see amazing wildlife! 10 out of 10.

As a solo traveller age 60, I was apprehensive about venturing into the Amazon. But from the moment Don Carlos met me at Leticia Airport until the moment he dropped me off six days later, Oxigeno Amazonas was with me every step of the way. Lukas my interpreter and Cheo my guide, treated me to a perfect blend of nature, culture, history, fantastic food and fun in this most beautiful part of the world. There were too many highlights to list here, but the night safari onto Lake Tarapoto was one of the most magical experiences of my life. Fireflies! Bats! Insects! Frogs! Raucous night birds, jumping fish, and shiny-eyed caimans! And all illuminated under a Universe I’ve never seen shine so brightly. From staying overnight in the indigenous villages to spotting Pink and Tucuxi dolphins on the Amazon River, I experienced emotions and a sense of absolute wonder that I have rarely felt since childhood. Bonus experience: Spend an extra day in Leticia to explore the town, walk into Brazil, and return in time to experience the tens of thousands of Canary-winged Parakeets arriving to roost in Leticia's Santander Park. A huge thanks to Karla, Darwis, Lukas, Carlos, Don Carlos, Cheo, and all the local guides and chefs who made this such a memorable trip.

I did the 6 day tour which was amazing. The highlight of my holiday. Guri as guide and Oscar as translator. Both became friends. Oscar is very intelligent cultural guy with a great background. We had nice talks also about the political situation. About the activity. I was solo and it was a private trip. Looking for slurs, kaaiman, ... Fishing, swimming, kayaking, nightfall... A bit a challenge for a 64 old man, but I managed. A lifetime experience! Worth every penny.

The last two comments I have seen have nothing to do with what I experienced and I feel I must intervene and express my opinion. I was lucky enough to be able to take part in one of his private tours as a translator. The deal was exquisite. From the beginning I felt cared for and appreciated, as a worker and as a human being. They have a special way of making customers and workers feel, with extreme warmth and watchful of every incident and desire. I witnessed firsthand several cases during the six days where they were deviated to make everyone happy and enjoy themselves, even exceeding expectations. They put a lot of love into their work. Accommodations, guides and places are very special and all the Service they provide feels professional and careful at every step. The customers were amazed and repeated it to me on several occasions. I am therefore aware that the above comments are fraudulent and have nothing to do with reality. If you want to know the Amazon in all its abundance and beautiful diversity, I would recommend this tour one and a thousand times.

This tour was a unique, unforgettable experience. A very good mix of nature, culture, hiking and other activities! Especially our guides Eliceo and Oscar were a great team. Eliceo introduced us to the culture and knowledge of the indigenous Ticunas and Oscar helped us with communication difficulties. If you want to experience the Amazon with great accompaniment, this is the right place.

Absolutely Incredible Tour – Exceeded All Expectations! This tour was fabulous from start to finish! We were warmly greeted at the airport and whisked away to our hotel for the night, where everything was seamlessly arranged. The next morning, we were taken to the ferry and transported to Puerto Nariño, where the real adventure began. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by Calli (the wonderful owner), our amazing guide Eliseo, and our friendly translator Oscar. What followed was an unforgettable journey that went above and beyond anything we imagined! Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of — from clean rooms to delicious traditional Colombian meals. The experiences were rich, authentic, and deeply educational. Eliseo, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and always made our safety a top priority, while Oscar kept us informed and engaged every step of the way. The level of care and dedication from the Oxygena Amazones team was extraordinary. The owners truly went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed — and more — to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience. We can’t recommend this tour highly enough! Thank you, Oxygena Amazones, for giving us memories we’ll treasure forever!

We’ve had an incredibly joyful and happy experience on this tour. From meeting Danielle and Morgales at the airport, to being greeted by Darwil and Oscar at Puerto narino and then guided by Elicio through our jungle adventure everyone was so lovely it made the trip a delight. Nothing was too much trouble for them from making custom made walking pokes and fans on the hike to assisting us with luggage. Karla organised everything so thoroughly it made our lives very easy. Thank you to the whole Oxygenas team, Marg and Hamish

Where do I begin? The Experience we received from the crew at Oxigenos Amazonas was impeccable! My wife, myself, and our friend come from a hospitality background and when we first saw the all 5-star rating we were a tad skeptical but also very interested. I contacted them via WhatsApp and immediately the 5-star experience of a lifetime began to take shape. Within a few minutes of asking my initial questions i got friendly responses that were above and beyond the scope of the questions I had. One of the biggest attractions to their company is that they offer a private jungle experience! From groups of people to a single jungle trekker they provide a wonderful experience with a friendly guide and a translator to lead you through the 5 days! They made it all so easy! We landed in Leticia and they’re Concierge Carlos met us at the airport. He made sure we arrived safely to our hotel, waited for us to get settled and led us to a favorite local spot for dinner. The next day Carlos met us at the hotel and helped us with our bags from there to the rivers edge where we boarded a small boat and he even came with us to the “bus stop” —but it’s boats instead of buses on the Amazon. Once we were settled on the larger transport boat we parted ways and the three of us started our 2 hour journey up the Amazon to Puerto Nariño. This was the “home base” for our adventure. An absolutely incredible little town in the jungle. 4000ish people and the only vehicles are a trash tractor and a few small ambulances. Otherwise the streets are filled with smiling people peddling their wears or walking about, kids playing or going to or from school, and street dogs doing street dog stuff. Super cool jungle town! Every experience that we had with them felt taylored to our needs and truly fit the bill for an unforgettable Amazon jungle experience! When I was initially looking at different companies to go with, I was concerned we may not get the “true” amazon experience or we might miss something. By the end of our time with these lovely people I couldn’t imagine that I had missed anything. There was so much to see, do, and learn. We will definitely be back! We want to see it during the high season. If you made it this far into my review just book it… Also, if you have any special requests or wants just ask the crew. They really go above and beyond to accommodate and you feel it every step of the way. We added the ayahuasca experience and an extra day and it was no problem at all. You wont regret booking with Oxigeno.
