Departure early in the morning from your riad/hotel in Marrakesh and travel across the high Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass (2260 m) the highest road lane in Morocco offers wonderful panoramic views of the mountains and valleys with a wonderful path, beautiful scenery in different colors and barbarian villages along the way. Many Kasbahs visit along the way, including Tamnougalte and Ait Benhaddou. Ait Benhaddou is considered one of the best Kasbahs in Morocco, which is the UNESCO site in the 16th century. A popular site for Hollywood movies, the journey continues through the Draa river valley lined with palm trees. Arrive at Zagora, the capital of dates. After that, continue towards gateSahara Desert Mhamid. Dinner and night at the camp in the nomadic standard camp.

After the breakfast at the camp we leave Mhamid on foot accompanied by the guide and the camels caravan. We will head to the Palm Grove. Tea and lunch will be served in the shade of Tamaris. After some rest, we continue our trekking to the sanctuary of Sidi Naji. The legend says that the marabout lived here. It's a place full of history and local custom. After the visit to the sanctuary we set the bivouac at the foot of the sand dunes. Free time until the dinner. Star bath and the silence of the desert guaranteed.

After breakfast we head to our next destination, Erg Zahar. After approximately 4 hours of walking you will see the beautiful golden dunes and the mountains expanding. We are close to the Algerian border. We set the camp and meet by the campfire. Free time.

After spending a beautiful night in Erg Zahar we continue our trek to Kraat Jamal. We pass by the town of Lahdybat, where we will have lunch. The road is full of tamarisk trees. Here we are surrounded by the beautiful Daraa Valley. We spend the last night in the desert, filled with wild beauty and silence.

5.00An unforgettable tour on foot in the desert! Abdellah and his team introduced us to the beauty of the desert and the way of life of the nomads. It was great to move away from the big tourist sturgeon. The team is top organised, the food is delicious and the desert experience is terrific. Next time we will do longer than 5 days.

5.00We enjoyed the desert trekking with Abdellah and his team a lot. The care they did not only put into the organisation but also in human connection was touching and gave us the opportunity to learn more about the desert and life as a nomad. On our trekking we went away from the touristic sites and camped in different spots in the desert, having nice fresh cooked food and slept under the stars. We can highly recommend it!

5.00Abdellah is an incredibly and friendly guide. I booked a 5 day desert trip with him and the trip was amazing. I was able to see the big dunes and we did a camel tour. The food was super tasty and the camps were great too. In the evenings we sat together and I was able to get to know the culture and music a little. My next desert trip will definitely be with him again and I highly recommend him :)
