The royal drums of Gishora are not just musical instruments, they are steeped in symbolism and tradition. Each drum has its own name and role in royal ceremonies and rituals. They are linked to legends, stories of kings and heroes, and are considered sacred objects. These ritual drums, made from the skin of bulls donated by King Mwezi Gisabo, are a tribute to Burundi's history and resilient people..
