Our Apron Up Cooking Class has been gaining popularity through years in giving people an intensive and interesting lessons. People who come to us can be experts who want to open Vietnamese restaurant back home or a person who never cook before but want to be able to eat delicious Viet food when they have to come back after vacation.

Our school locates right in the centre of the old quarter so very easy to access and hence, after the market tour in the biggest market in Hanoi which is right near the old quarter, you can also know where to buy what in the rest of your trip here.

Within only 3 - 4 hours, you get to learn about the ingredients ( spices and Vietnamese produces), get your hands on cooking a whole meal of the most popular and authentic 5 dishes in Hanoi (or its vegetarian version for vegetarian attendants, enjoying your fruits of labour and try Vietnamese rice wine together with your classmates, receiving a cook booklet and certificate!

What To Expect

Explore local market and shopping with our guide, cook 5 Vietnamese dishes, eat your own fruits of labour together with Vietnamese rice vodka. Get a cook book and certificate. Menu: Pho bo (beef noodle soup), Bun cha (Hanoi BBQ pork noodle), Nem ran (fried spring roll), papaya salad, egg coffee/ chocolate. Vegetarians/ non-red meat eaters will learn vegetarian version.

I love to cook. So did the rest of the group I was in. Our lovely teacher took the time to explain the herbs, spices, noodles, and techniques. We all participated in the preparation of the meal and at the end we were gifted with a certificate and a cookbook with the recipes plus a few more. I met some incredible and interesting people from the US, Germany, and Spain. It was a memorable evening and I look forward to cooking your recipes for my friends and family. Thank you 😊

This activity is definitely intended for two people as you cook with a partner. It would also be fun to go with a group because everyone helps to cook the meal. Our instructor/ guide was incredibly friendly, helpful and spoke good English. The food turned out delicious and there was lots. Only thing I’d change is that lots was done for us, such as cooking the bbq pork, but we were still very involved. I really liked that the group was small, there were six people in our group and we were given specific instructions and shown exactly how to do everything. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. :)

Perla was so kind and informative during our cooking class experience. The food was phenomenal and she even gave us her local recommendations at the end of class. She’s very heart warming and knowledgeable! However when we booked and reserved the class they told us in writing it was 850,000VND. On the day of they told us that it was now 880,000VND because “of the exchange rate currently”. We booked in writing only 2.5 weeks prior and they refused to honor their original quote. Very scammy.

A fun, enjoyable, and educational cooking class! We had so much fun and Bella was a great teacher. The class was about 3 hours, started with a trip to the market gathering local ingredients and cooking together. Would recommend 10/10

Had a great time, first, touring the local markets with Emmy to collect and understand the ingredients we were to cook. Enjoyed the step-by-step processes and explanation of recipes we were cooking. Individuals assigned different tasks, so the cooking processes were managed, and everyone was included. A fun experience followed by a Vietnamese feast. Don't eat before you go! Yumm.

This was a lot of fun, thank you Coco! We had four others in the class, so 6 in total, which was a great size group. There was plenty of room inside. Coco spent time with each of us, getting to know us personally. The market was very close by, literally being across the road. We learnt about the different ingredients they use. Then came the fun part, preparing each dish. We all were involved and had plenty of laughs. The food was amazing, we sat down as a group and ate after cooking. We were also given the recipes for everything we cooked! You would be crazy not to try it! I will be going back on our next trip. It was a great night! The only downside was the bar closing before we finished cooking. It would have been nice to have a drink with dinner.
