Step off the summit of Table Mountain, an astounding 1,000 meters above sea level, and rappel into pure vertical space. While the views from the mountaintop are breathtaking, the sights you'll see during the abseil are truly unparalleled. As you descend the side of a sheer cliff, Camps Bay, the Atlantic Seaboard, and the deep blue ocean will spread out at your feet, with the majestic Twelve Apostles right at your side. This Table Mountain Abseil is guaranteed to get your pulse racing. The entire experience lasts approximately one hour. This duration covers a safety demonstration, getting harnessed, completing the abseil, and a short hike to return you to the top of the mountain. You can reach the meeting/start point at the top by combining this activity with one of our Table Mountain Hikes or by taking the Cable car up to join on for this mind-blowing adventure.

Truly awesome experience. Since I recently Bungy jumped from the Blaukrans, I thought this would be much easier, but the adrenaline rush experienced during Abseiling is five times greater than Bungy. A must-do for all the adrenaline junkies out there! And the crew at the Table mountain along with their equipment make this activity even more memorable. Cheers to Tristan! I did make it alive! 😊

Sign up process was very quick and easy and we were welcomed by the guide, experience was about 10 minutes and the walk back to the top took us around 30 minutes. We didn’t have to wait long and 2 people were able to abseil side by side - would recommend!

Abseiling on Table Mountain was an adrenaline rush with amazing views. Though some people choose to hike the mountain, we opted to take the cable car to the summit, which afforded amazing views and an expedited trip (we had also climbed Lion's Head that morning and were in no shape to climb mountain #2). We lucked out and did not face any lines for the cable car experience, but we showed up an hour before our reservation time just in case. When we were on the way down the mountain the line was massive, so I think we made the right decision. the scariest part of abseiling was the walk from the top of the mountain to clip yourself into the abseiling equipment. It is quite intimidating given the incredible height, sheer cliffs, and the fact that you've not yet gotten comfortable with the safety harnesses yet. Once you're all strapped in, they give an in-depth safety overview and review next steps. The entire team was professional and supportive. As someone afraid of heights, I greatly appreciated this. Once you get going down the mountain, the experience is really quite fun! We also bungee jumped on this trip and I found abseiling to be far more enjoyable. I've seen reviews that note the hike back up to the top of the mountain is pleasant; for those who are hiking/climbing novices note that there are a few scrambles and it takes some time to get back up to the top. It's a short hike but of moderate difficulty.
